What's your favourite Perry high note?

Postby Phen » Mon Dec 10, 2007 1:59 am

Just found this video.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51vJElLyOL4&feature=related and I'm curious to know what everyone's favourite is. Mine has to be the "it's whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat I like to do" from Sweet & Simple. :P Long live The Voice.

Not his highest note.........but the first one I thought of when I saw this thread was Someday Soon. Just love Perry's high vocal contrast to Rollie's in this song. When Perry sings "All we can do is tryyyyy...." it sounds almost angelic coming after Rollie's vocals.

Daydream is one of my all time favs..Also, Still They Ride (album version) may be the best vocal ever recorded.

In Little Girl the part where he sings....

"Shades turn red from green to blue, what more can I do, I told you this before, so please walk out that door
I told you from the start, that love could break your heart, girl I'm so sah, ah, reeeeeee"

That's a pretty sick sampler. It's no wonder why we compare everything to Perry. He established such a high quality standard, almost impossible to duplicate let alone surpass.

The one in Wheel In The Sky....I always thought it was some type of instrument or synthesizer till I saw the video. Unbelievable!

Also like Something To Hide...hence my user name.

Oh god, yeah... that's definately a musical orgasm. (The name my friends and I give to anything musical that we like.) Little Girl is one of the best Journey tracks ever. Good old Dream After Dream.

Like Daydream too and couldn't agree more with Still They Ride, my all-time favorite Journey song! It's not so much about the range as it is the soaring vocal acrobatics on that one. This is probably the best live version I've ever heard........those soaring vocals can still make this gals toes curl.

They're all great, but I'd have to say that I'm torn between the glorious falsetto notes at the conclusion of "Mother, Father" or his operatic screams in "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever".
