No comparison. Any album with Perry will always get the edge in my book.
I have zero interest in Arrival.

Trial by Fire by a landslide. Arrival should have been a third album from Bad English. It's not a Journey album. Augeri was the weakest link in the talent pool of that lineup.

there are a few songs on Arrival i really like, but overall TBF is much better imo. Easy to Fall is one of my favorite songs and When I Think of You is very near and dear to my heart. Arrival does not hold any emotional value to me, if that makes sense.
Until we meet again, may God

TBF is my favorite Journey album when ROR isn't. Arrival isn't even in the competion. It's a good album by a band that calls itself Journey and has a Journeyeque sound, but not quite up to Journey standards. (IMO)

They're even in my book.

Both have KILLER rock songs, but too many ballads.

I'm in different moods when I listen to both, too.

I enjoy Arrival much more than TBF. But TBF did have better production AND Steve Perry.

Same here, I love both CD's, its hard to say. I can anwer this though on behalf of the occassional Journey fan-not me because I am avid but a couple of friends of mine arent as die hard as me and during the summer we would sit out at the pool listening to both. Those guys like Arrival better because TBF gets slow too much.

Arrival. Trial by Fire is a nap. Terrible rockers on it. Although, Arrival had terrible balads. Higher Place is the best song by far on either album. Trial by Fire should have never even happened. 1984 should have been a split and anew direction for Journey....OR...they should have never gone away for 10 years. Either way, the band lost its way after Frontiers.

I agree completely!

They're apples and oranges. It all depends on what you're in the mood for. I've got TBF in the stereo at the moment.

Its nothing against Augeri or the album. I just don't have it, know anyone who has it within "Let me borrow that" distance, and don't really care to buy it. I'm not saying it sucks. It wouldn't be right to judge one way or the other.

That's complete bullshit. Arrival is an OK album that sounds somewhat like Journey, but it isn't as good as the worst song on Escape, if you can even find a bad one.

Infinity doesn't count.. Its TBF against Arrival.. This is how it works out..

Rock >Arrival all day long and not even close.. One more off TBF is pretty good tho..

Ballads > TBF all day long and it isn't even close.. We will meet again and Live and Breathe off Arrival are 2 of my all time Favorites!

Before you cry cause its not Perry..Seriously ..Listen to Augeri's voice and the songs,lyrics.. Exceptional !

I've listened to his voice. There are a few songs on Arrival that I like, but if you want to compare singers, comparing Augeri's voice on it's best day to Perry's even on it's worst is just ludicrous. He doesn't make a good nodule on Perry's vocal cord. There is nothing on Arrival that can compare vocally to anything on any Journey/Perry album or Perry solo album.

Don't be stupid..Where did I write I was comparing the 2? No shit Perry is way better..That's not what we are talking about.. I can't believe all the close minded people.. Every person that didn't even know Arrival was out,I sampled (All the things) to them and everyone of them wanted the album! They all got back to me and told me they listened over and over.. Go figure right?
