I felt the same way. And they played at 7 pm in daylight to people who were still getting their beers and walking to their seats. Well, when Foreigner got going people were running to their seats, that's for sure. I loved it when Kelly said "we're not playing any of our sappy shit tonight, we're here to rock" (or something like that). And they sure as hell rocked for their 50 minutes. Styx just went through the motions, and then Def Lep was what I remember from the tour with Journey. Nothing new.
How about this summer Loverboy from 7-7:40, Foreigner from 8:00-9:00 and Journey from 9:20-11:00? Sounds like a good night of music to me.
Sounds perfect. And it's quite apparent that Kelly wants to rock and not play the softer tunes. That set was 100% energy from start to finish. I'm a HUGE fans of shorter, more intense sets. Everything after their set was intermittent fun. Neither of the bands that followed were able to have any sustained momentum. That Foreigner set was memorable.
I'm in. I'll meet you at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre.
Foreigner's set last year was definately 100% energy. It was hard for Styx to get going when they did Miss America, an extended Come Sail Away and an extended Renegade. They only got in like 9 songs in their 50 minutes. Foreigner pumped out song after song. And it was in your face. I was loving every minute. And you could tell the crowd got more and more into it as they got going. They should have gotten Styx' stage time that night.
