What do you mean by "them". I think that is a racist remark.![]()
If I had posted that I would already have a shit load of PM's.
LMFAO!!!!!!
aside from his personal life the dude is a fantastic football player. I went to many Falcons games and when he would take off it was amazing to watch his speed and footwork. They changed the way they played him to further his career without as much injury...that restricted him to a certain extent. As far as winning games..they became a winning team with him....that team sucked before Vick and a few other additions. If by winning you mean it only counts if your wearing superbowl rings then you must think that Marino was overrated too.Enigma869 wrote:This guy got what he deserves. Although I love animals, I'm certainly not some wacko radical. That said, for sheer stupidity alone, he shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL!
On another note, Vick will forever be the MOST OVERRATED football player I've ever seen in my entire life! This guy has gotten more publicity (even before he was executing "Benji") for doing nothing, than any QB in the history of the league! He was a great football player at Virginia Tech, but there are MANY college football players who simply don't have the skill set for the NFL, and he is the poster child for that! If he came into the NFL as a running back, I would feel completely differently. Because he chose to play QB...he simply doesn't belong on an NFL field! Vick certainly isn't the first overrated QB I've seen. Namath and Bradshaw were both very overrated, and Namath should have NEVER gotten into the hall of fame. That said, at least those guys won some games!

One thing for sure....if he wasn't a tight end before he when into the slammer, he sure as hell won't be one when he gets out.
.IMO I thought he was a fantastic player, regardless of the numbers...they changed their playing style to a west coast offense, didn't they? I think he was amazing to watch in person. If you reread what I wrote...I was not comparing Vick to Marino..no way. I just dug Vicks skills...dont think he's up there with the greatest. I agree..no way he comes close to Marino.Enigma869 wrote:TVL wrote:aside from his personal life the dude is a fantastic football player. I never denied the guy was a great athlete. There is a HUGE different between being a great athlete and an NFL QB! I went out of my way to say that if he were an NFL running back, I would have a VERY different opinion about his skill set! As for winning games, I cannot argue with you that Vick has a winning record as a QB. His career record is 38-33. That said, I'm not impressed! The guy has played in 74 NFL games in his career. During that time, he has passed for 11,505 yards, which comes out to a whopping 155 yards a game. Also, in those 74 games, he has passed for 71 touchdowns! Nothing overly impressive about those numbers, and certainly nothing that warrants calling this guy "a fantastic football player"!
To answer your question, I do not measure a QB's greatness by the number of super bowl rings he has. Terry Bradshaw has 4 super bowl rings, and I've already said he was VERY overrated, if you look at the guy's career numbers! Joe Namath is in the Hall of Fame for one reason and one reason only...his guarantee that the Jets were going to beat the Colts in the Super Bowl!
I'm old-school and simply trust what my eyes see! I can tell you that as much as I hate the Cowboys, Tony Romo is a FAR more skilled QB than Vick ever was! I would personally NEVER use the puppy killer's name in the same sentence with Dan Marino! Marino played 242 NFL games in his career and threw 420 touchdowns during those 242 games! Also, Marino averaged about 260 yards a game passing, over a very long 16 year career, so again, there is simply ZERO comparison! I'm okay with you or any other Vick fans thinking this guy was on his way to Canton. I'm just hear to tell you that the numbers say otherwise, and that as an NFL QB, he was a below average performer!
