What's your favorite initial song of any cd Journey did.. Also, what is your favorite self titled song of an album..ie.. Escape,Escape or Frontier and Frontiers.. That was my favorite part of Journey..SP made a big deal out of it and I miss that alot.. I can't believe they did Arrival and didn't have a self titled song..

I would say Mine is The way Faith in the Heartland starts..I'm kinda burnt on DSB.. That is the song that got me into Journey when it was on the radio..I waited for it to come on.. I would have to say Escape is my favorite self titled..But I like Frontier alot also..

No contest......Escape
"as long as they have to carry DSB as their banner, it looks like Perry will be right there with them as an overseer, ready to wield his veto power on all things Classic Journey." As quoted by Don on 12/7/2010

Easily Escape as the best title track off any album.

But I'm going to have to agree that Faith In The Heartland is a hell of a good way to start an album. That, or Separate Ways as track one from Frontiers.

Totally. 8)

As for starting off the album... I'd say DSB and Separate Ways were both pretty great openers.

Separate Ways to kick off an album, and I don't particularly like any of the self-titled songs.

Escape is the song I would choose to play to someone who has never heard Journey before. It's got everything.

In the Bible, Jesus turned water into wine. But then Chuck Norris turned that wine into beer before reminding his son not to be late home for dinner...

Not that I am suggesting that Chuck Norris is God or anything (he is clearly much more powerful)!

It's shorter than "Mother, Father".

Anyway, I'd definitely take "Escape" in that category and for best opener, I'd have to pick "Majestic/Too Late" from "Evolution".

Majestic/Where Were You from Captured is my favorite album opener. The best title track is Escape. TBF is also great but like NIG said. Escape has everything. Great song.

After the long hiatus and the anticipation of the new material, Message of Love was awesome...until it turned into a clone of Separate Ways. Still, great opening song.

Gotta go with Majestic/Where Were You though. Escape was fine. Trial by Fire is good, if lying with a loved one in a cozy quiet place.
