Yep, right out of Schon's ass and Friga's pussy...

Friga must have a pussy for sure. Hell, he wore a smock, painters hat and played a fucking Keytar. Those 3 things = pussy.

I thought they spelled "80's" Not that I don't agree with what you say

SPH, It is what it is. not everyone in the 80's played the "pussy" card like Friga did.

I liked it.. They wrote it for some event on the East Coast, from what I read in an earlier post.. I thought it sounded a little like some old Journey.. The sound anyhow.. It is far from sucking..Please..
I never really felt like I was part of the band "Steve Perry"

You read my mind.

I was 10 feet from the stage when Jeff sang the song. Shitty Song. Not even close. Not JSS's fault at all. Totally on FRIGA for writing a TURD.

And that's what we have to look forward to with Arnel's Journey... A band that has lost it's way in totality.. Fucking sad, really. And, to think.. I was once PROUD to be a Journey fan.. WOW!

JSs with Neal (2 studios) and drum machine + maybe some Cain. Not a full band demo.

I can't even stand to watch that. Ugh!!! It pisses me off so damned bad! It was such a great weekend, but now in retrospect I can see the Journey thing unravelling. Can Neal stand any farther away from Jeff?? We don't see him a whole lot in that video, but does anyone else notice that he won't even look in Jeff's direction? I noticed a slight lack of 'brotherhood' that day, but of course didn't know of any problems with the guys. It was a FAR CRY from the Journey we saw just a few months earlier in Florida.

Now, for the song... as a Virginian, even I think it sucks. LOVE Jeff's passion singing it though, and prefer Jeff's version to Jeremey's although I think Jeremey did a fine job working on it.

JSS's time with Journey and it's various parts, IMO.

WOF - terrible song. If this exemplifies what was to come with Schon and Cain, then no thanks.

Soul Sirkus - An album I have a very hard time listening to. His collaboration with Schon produced nothing memorable except for 'Coming Home' which I liked a little bit. I really wanted to like this band but it was, by and large, crap. And, rightfully, it fell apart.

Believe in Me - Cool song with a little help from Neal.

2006 Journey Tour - Nice job at helping the band finish the year. We were captured by a great frontman that performed with passion but, and lets be honest here, he did struggle with some of the catalog - eventually taking songs like Only the Young and BGTY out of the setlist. (Songs I would personally like to hear at a Journey show)

The JSS/Schon collaboration produced nothing exciting except for Believe in Me with a nod to Coming Home
The JSS/Schon/Cain collaboration was a major stink bomb.
The JSS/Journey live show was exciting but they have to have more than 'live' chemistry and I think that's all they had.

Yep, terrible as it gets.

The collaboration was amazing. They went after a harder sound. That CD has everything.

And just so you know Gibby, Azoff is the one who destroyed SS. He wouldn't get behind it because he felt it to be a threat to Journey.

Believe in Me - Cool song with a little help from Neal.

Yep

Fair enough, but at least he was live.

Ok

The JSS/Schon/Cain collaboration was a major stink bomb.

Ok. This piece of shit was written by Friga. He wrote it out on piano and then sent MP3's to the rest of the band. Soto and Schon did their part and sent em back. Valory and Castronovo heard it and learned it on the fly. Let's face it, the song is not that hard to pick up. The way they wrote, via MP3's and distance sucked. TNC hit on that a long tome ago. Not healthy.

No love for Soul Goes On?? That intro is one of the most beautiful pieces of guitar work Schon has done. As for WOF, love the singer, hate the song. 'Nuff said.

Soul Sirkus just didn't do it for my ears. It's like Schon's last solo album Eye on U. I listen to the first song which I think was called Blue Passion and then I hit the 'next' button on all the rest shortly after the track begins. For me, SS was a lot of noise at times - like a guitar solo, drum solo, and bass solo going on at the same time. It had it's good parts now and then but as a whole I was pretty disappointed in it - maybe Azoff was too. I hate to think I share an opinion with that dried up old raisin. :)

he did struggle with some of the catalog - eventually taking songs like Only the Young and BGTY out of the setlist.

I don't think those songs were replaced because he was struggling...they began adding songs like "Line Of Fire" & "Dead Or Alive"...those are just as taxing to sing...

It would have never made an album.. I would love to hear all the demo's Journey has done..Think of all the songs those guys wrote, hidden gems that we will never get to hear... :( sigh

Also.. Has anyone seen the writing credits on this song.. Your blaming Cain for the song sucking, but JSS is singing it.. He could have said no.. I like the song, not album material, but has a nice sound.. Haters>suck

Complete Journey song, penned by Cain. Read the thread- written for Virginia's bday, shared via mp3s, etc... this was not a schon/soto collaboration.

Cheezy song. Sounds like a really bad 80's movie theme.

JSS sounded great on it - far superior, and I thought he sounded more like "Journey" than the other clip posted.

Also, sorry folks, the song sucks ass but no way in fucking Hell is Jeremey's version better. I think his version sucks more ass than the original.

Only reason I tackled this was because Cain was giving me lyrics to sing on demos that weren't even written for the songs they were coming up with. Having written a few lyrics in my day, I wanted to take a shot at writing something without anyone looking over my shoulder and this was what I had on hand. That being said, no problems with anyone chosing one version over the other, it's not a contest!

I like this little tune, quite a lot actually.
"I love almost everybody."---Rocky Balboa 1990
"Let's reform this thing.Let's go out and get some guys who want to work and go do it"--Neal Schon February, 2001

I get you. My point was Friga basically shit this out, wiped it off and said, "here you go." I was putting the "ass sucking" on Friga, not you or JSS. Sorry if I wasn't more clear.

Here is the writing process for the new Journey:

Friga writes it- Image

Neal does his best to turn shit into song--Image
Then expresses his true feelings of Frigas work-Image

Ross forgets the bass lines--Image

Deen thinks of the new stuff--Image

Then they introduce the song to Arnel--Image

And finally, the fans voice their opinion-

I did prefer Jeremey's version. Maybe because the sound quality was a little better.

Jeremey, after alot of reading here, this is first time I have had the chance to hear your vocals dude (don't have access to youtube at work). Anyway, you really can belt it out bro. Great pipes.

Now, only if we could get you guys on a tour of the West Coast sometime. :?:
