Winds of March mp3 download - featuring Jeff Scott Soto

A great Steve Perry song and Jeff is using a lot of the same support band Steve used back in the day.

It's an audience boot with a hiccup or two the way it was recorded, but I think most will appreciate it. It's been posted before but it's been awhile.

Allegedly the support band is now doing a live karaoke show in South America soon! Something tells me this song won't be in the setlist. Mr. Soto wanted to push them to new heights, but alas, karaoke of the same 12 songs must pay well.

What's wrong with that? LOL. I'll fix the link. Try now. No offense to Jeff, but I'd rather look at Hoffs.

Link should be fine now.

I think that was left over from the hottest chicks in Rock and Roll thread. :P

Give me a break. I'm a woman and I'd rather see and hear Jeff. :D (I will admit to liking the Bangles tho)

Yeah it was leftover in my clipboard. LOL

Hope you enjoy the clip. It was from the European tour. Also thanks to the person who sent it to me.

Ummmm... I'm sure i'm stirring a hornets nest here, but I have to be honest. I think Jeff bit off more than he could handle on this one. Songs too big for him. This really didn't sound good at all and I'm not referring to the recording quality.

I think he sounds terrific.

He pushed them to do songs like this. Anyone else they bring in = The dirty dozen ONLY!

Some of you fuckers in this fanbase (not necessarily you SORY_TELLER) over analyze every freaking note. Led Zeppelin just rocked the house this week and Robert Plant was very good - not spot on, but damn good. Rock and Roll is not a symphony. Mick Jagger, Robert Plant Bruce Springsteen = none of them are note perfect. However they are icons and the best in the business in many ways.

Jeff is a rock frontman with an AMAZING voice. He owns the staage and made Journey look relevant on that Leppard tour.

Journey truly fucked up. Jeff would have wanted to play rare cuts and was interested in new music and moving FORWARD. That is the dream of a hardcore fanbase. Instead you will have a 4 foot tall karaoke parrot singer and 1 lame Friga inspired album at the most.

You always seem to be a person of good reason, and I've always respected your posts, but in this instance, I disagree. I think he nailed the fuck out of that one. Maybe you just don't like hearing a different voice singing that tune, to which I can say I understand, but Jeff rocked the nuggets off of that one. That's my opinion anyway.

Cheers bro.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

You should hear Perry 1980 ,yes 1980 Houston WOM but Jeff did a hell of a job . Most would not attempt it after what Perry did with it.

While I agree with you on Jeff and what he would have brought to the band, how many hardcore fanbases really completely support (in a financial sense) a band? Journey, Chicago and such are not counting on the next $12.99 album and the one thousand fans that live on their websites and message boards to supplement their social security checks. They are counting on the guy that remembers first getting laid to Open Arms, Hard Habit to Break and such to spend $80 in tickets, $20 for a T-Shirt and pick up another greatest hits package (because this one is remastered, has 5.1 sound or 17 tracks instead of the 12 tracks released in 1989).

Is Arnel the guy to keep that train rolling? Maybe he'll hit every note close enough so that couple dancing in the aisle will come back and spend another $100 or so next year. Maybe Journey will release another CD and play 2 of those songs. Trust me, whatever they do it will focus on the dirty dozen.

JSS was a breath of fresh air. Jeff exudes power when he takes the stage.
But everything happens for a reason.

As for "Journey", these guys will tour all over the place once again. That's the bread and butter.
They'll play the 12 or 13 songs demanded/expected of them. Throw in some newbies. Call it a night. Unzip the fly....

How else are they able to fork over all of the loot for the alimony/child support related to the dozen or so divorces between all of the current members of Journey? They're all pimp's and ho's for the Journey machine/monster.... business as usual in the Journey camp. That goes for a lot of the melodic rock bands through the years....and I’ll keep going to shows and buying the records like a mule

Kleenex is on sale at Walgreens. If you don't like it don't go, but quit the whining.
