Jeff Scott Soto.....

Postby Journey69 » Sun Dec 16, 2007 11:04 am

How many people think he's going to keep singing Journey songs? Is he bitter enough to say F it.. Has he stated on the forums that he going to keep singing them? I like the fact that he mixes in obscure songs like Wind of March.. That's impressive..

He does 1 or 2 in his set. That's all.

The Winds of March download was when he was still in the band. Don't look for Journey to play that kind of stuff without JSS in the fold. They couldn't even remember how to play half of what he had ambitions to perform.

He's been doing a couple of them for a long time. Way before he was in Journey. I see Jeff as a steadfast, extremely determined person that will not let anything that's happened in the recent past change him in any way.

Why not? He sang Journey songs before the lead singer fiasco, why would he stop now? They're still good songs.

He won't play obscure slow prog songs from a '77 Journey record at one of his own shows. He is all about pleasing his audience. Why the Hell would he drag out and dust off Winds of March? He could play a closing tune like Sep Ways and the crowd will love it. Let's face it, as big as dicks as they are, Classic Journey is still well, classic.

LOL at AR. It's true, RV couldn't remember nor get the bass lines right for WOM  RV is an ok dude.

Jeff can sing any fuckin' thing he wants to and sound great doing it. Even if he sang an obscure Journey song the audience would love it because chances are it would be new to them.

Tree, Jeff just moves on. You're correct. Waht happened to him had to hurt though. I think we all know that. The guy just loves performing and making music though, so the callous way he was treated - he just moves forward rather than dwell on it.

I on the other hand have plenty of hatred and insults to spare!

Jeff could sing cold medicine commercials and they would ROCK. The man has HUGE talent. Definatively one of the best, both in skill and just how good of a peron he is.

Actually, everytime I see JSSB clips and after seeing them live a few times.......I'm quite happy he's back with Gary and Howie (and Dave). The on-stage chemistry is ten-fold better in JSSB than in Journey (except for maybe with Deen, liked how JSS and Deen played off each other). :D

I think the important thing to remember about Jeff is that he has openly said that Steve Perry was a big influence on him, musically. He was pretty open about that (in fact, I think he even thanks Perry on one of his solo albums), long before he ever got the Journey gig. I suspect that the music that inspired him will still drive him to sing those songs he was so influenced by. After all, Perry certainly had nothing to do with the circus that unfolded!
