Great album all the way through, but God love this song, Father Time, and One Light Burning.

I like him better than the Bon Jovi band. I was never a fan of that band. I liked that song though. Thanks.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Fact is, Richie doesn't make it this big without Jon, and he doesn't lay Heather Locklear. Jon is the brains behind this band, even though they lip like Journey and Def Lippard.

Thats true, I remember Richie saying on Behind The Music.........that with the drive that Jon has, you just have to try to keep up.

The guy's been married to his high school sweetheart for years, has 4 kids. He got rid of their management when the machine started tearing the band apart. The guy has definately got his sh!t together.

Oh man, you are NOT kidding -

One day I heard a song from the other end of the house on MTV. Who the hell is that, I thought? An unbelievable voice and a fantastic song - turned out to be Richie Sambora and "Ballad of Youth". I went out and bought the CD that day. It remains one of THE best CDs I've ever heard.

The video is smokin' - I have it on my computer!

I'm not a Bon Jovi fan - I try to listen for Richie but I really can't "hear" him. With that voice, he needs to be singing solo.

Undiscovered Soul was not as good as SITT, but the man can sing!

To me, Sambo is a bit bluesier than Schon....but not in any way that makes him better than Schon...just in that, if they were both improvising in a solo section, Sambora would likely play something bluesy before doing something flashy or fierce...and schon would likely do the exact opposite....and play something fierch/flashy before doing something bluesy. Both are capable of doing either...I just think Sambora, given the way he's evolved as a player, resorts a little more to his inner-clapton.

Also, and this is no contest, Sambora is a far better singer than neal could ever hope to be! ;) granted, there's a long list of singers out there that could get the best of Neal, vocally! ;)

I've always thought that Richie was a better singer than Jon. His vocals on "Stranger in This Town" are awesome. Very bluesy.

Oh wow...I can't believe how I forgot about this gem!! Stranger In This Town must be one of the best albums of the 90s.
I do remember how surprised I was that "Bon Jovi's guitar player" :P was so damn brilliant as a songwriter AND singer! What also impressed me was the smooth bluesy feeling of the whole album...Maybe because at the time I was crazy for blues (not that I ever recovered, lol), RS's album came as a very enjoyable surprise.

One Light Burning is still incredibly beautiful...Can't believe I still know the words after almost 17 years! :)

Thanks for reminding me of all this,Scarygirl!Gotta look for the CD and give it a spin.

Funny, in Sheetz getting coffee this morning and heard a JBJ Christmas song come on, don't remember which one. He was totally ripping off Sam Cooke, right to the "Woah woah woah" at the beginning of the song! Sounded like it could have been a Perry Christmas tune. Anyone know which one I'm talking about?
