actually its kind of hard for me to get into any of the material from frontiers onward.there are certain songs i like that are great like rubicon,happy to give,when you love a woman,etc. but for the most part anything after escape i can't listen to from beginning to end.i'm more of an album oriented type person and its more about the overall album than one song.side one of frontiers used to seem just a little heavy on the ballad side to me.only song i cared for was chain reaction.it kept that whole side one from being just pure ballad.i think starting on frontiers they started worrying more about getting hits then they did just focusing on the overall effort of the album.i never could get into raised on radio but always thought happy to give was one of their greatest singles never released.i think it could've been huge if some effort would've been put into releasing it instead of stuff like suzzane,etc.also greatest hits to me seemed just that.it concentrated on the more commercial moments.i guess my main phase of the band i cared for would be infinity,evolution,departure,captured and escape.after that i liked a few songs but those are my main ones.i just ordered trial by fire on amazon so the jury is out on that one just yet although i really like the one song i've heard when you love a woman.as far as arrival,red 13,generations,etc. i don't think i can get into those so i guess i'm biased on those.

I can see why someone would like Escape but not ROR, but how can someone lioke Escape and Frontiers

Happy to give is one of my favorite songs! I think it's the hardest Journey song I've ever had to learn too!!! I don't know what it was, but it took me longer than normal on that one. I was happy as hell when Jeremey hit me up with this tune!

I'm with you Mike, but for different reasons. I was a big MTV fan in the early days when the station played exclusively just rock videos. Once the "Separate Ways" video came out and the band was pounding their fists and looking all-fake/angry, I said to myself, "what's up with this shit?...that's not them [as in visual image]." While they did put out some decent music after, this defining event came to be my "Mr.Roboto moment" with Journey.
