Is it just me or did anybody else bust out laughing at the "Journey had to get him a work visa" Just so they could get him here to record. I almost pissed myself laughing at that. What a friggin joke.

All I can say is this - If he thinks he got abused when we found out he was the guy, just let him fuck up one song!

Visas are par for the course when you're a citizen of another country. Whether he had come from Poland, Australia, or Jamaica...you need a visa to enter the US. You all should know that...if ya don't, you can take it up with The Office of Homeland Security

And so he's short...I didn't know it was a prerequisite to be tall, light-skinned and American to sing well, I always feel that you just have to be able to sing well. No one clowns Robert Plant because he speaks the Queen's English.

You guys complained about diction, he now has an accent reduction coach. I'm not thinking it will be as drastic as say Rick Springfield(from Aussie to barely detectable accent-unless you are listening for it ).

I'm sorry that Jeremy wasn't chosen, after watching some of his covers, he would have been a fine choice but at the same time, I think they made a better one with Arnel just on the sheer strength of his vocal range. As for all the people who say that the guy won't be able to hack it here in America, there are over 2.1 million Filipino Americans and his home nation of 84 million that will give him much of the drive he needs to succeed. In certain venues, there might be an air of hostility amongst a small contingent of fans but by and large, it's the music that will drive the show and IMHO once those pipes get unleashed, you'll hear the majority of the crowd approve of the band's choice. I say again... I COULD BE WRONG, BUT WHAT IF I'M RIGHT?

Best post to say that America has regressed in it's views on being a cultural melting pot or then again, at least certain posters views have regressed. I mean living out here in So Cal, if the band rocks, we'll support it.

Besides, would one consider the South, a Journey stronghold? The bay I get but the South? Anyways, we'll see how the "National Consciousness" moves. I for one can't wait to see the overall reaction and once it bears out that there are a whole hell of a lot more supporters than the small but noisy contingent of naysayers, I will laugh at all the heckle and abuse they will get and I read in the future.

Personally I think they should find two people for the next lead singer after they fire the 'new guy'.

The first singer should look exactly like a youthful Elvis Presley. He will sing the first 20 minutes of their concert.

The second singer should look exactly like FAT Elvis. He will sing the closing 10 or so minutes of the Journey show.

For the first 20 minutes with 'Youthful Elvis' pump vintage Steve Perry Journey tunes through the bar, mall, or zoo speakers.

For the final 10 minutes of the show pump Raised On Radio or For The Love Of Strange Medicine Steve Perry sounding Journey through the bar, mall, or zoo speakers. ( somehow yall' experts can distinguish between Steve's early & later voices).
