Neil Diamond is awesome to be sure.

Deb is just flatout wrong. NO ONE is more into the music or more emotive than Bruce. He actually cares about what he is writing and singing.

I've got to admit that song about the kid getting shot is a song that should be played on and on, I agree Bruce is someone to respect. 49 shots if my memory serves me right. What's the American angle on this song, did it really happen as bruce depicts it in his song? and what's happened as a result of his song..fuck all, am I right in assuming this?

Bruce is definitely one of the best songwriters, but I am talking strictly "vocals". His tone/timbre/emoting do nothing for me in comparison to SP/EM/JSS.

41 Shots (American Skin).

Hell yes it happened. A black kid was shot by the police for well, being black.

Bruce tells the story. No one tells the story better.

It will be hard to answer the positive things with anything melodic rock. IMHO, this has been one of the worst years for MR, save for 92-93, when Grunge kicked it off the map.

Most Dissapointing Music Moment of 2007?Not just in melodic rock, but in all rock...Jeff getting fucked by the biggest douchebag's in 'corporate suck' rock...has to take the cake.

Besides Jeff getting reamed, I'd have to say Melodic Rock in general. The musical genre took a serious hit in a year when the most newsworthy event is yet ANOTHER lead singer getting fucked by Neal Schon and Jon Cain. The entire genre is poisoned with egomaciac guitarists that think their fans give a shit about them enough to boot singers 2,3 even 4 times.

Most Exciting News of 2007?The fact that someone had the balls to finally put on a MR show here in the states. Andrew, you're fucking king of the hill man.

Favourite Album of 2007? This is going to go over like a lead balloon here, I'd have to say Brad Paisley's 5th gear.

Favourite Song of 2007? either Stupid Boy by Keith Urban or Letter to Myself, Brad Paisley.

Best Break Through Act of 2007? Sadly, another non-MR act. Bucky Covington.

Best Concert? Duh! MR fest. Curse my fucking teachers for preventing my attendance. I will have my revenge!

Saddest Moment of 2007? The realization that MR is fucking deader than Benazir Bhutto's dried up vulva.

Springsteen to my knowledge is also the ONLY singer to ever add in a verse about taking a leak and the bathroom tiles feeling cold at the same time. Quality lyrics.

Laugh all you want, but this is one of my favorite Springsteen songs. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk8VZgJkpeg

Most of the time I don't care how deep a song is lyrically (probably why I can't stand political crap in my music). Music is entertainment to me, not something I want to think long and hard about. Great vocals and talented musicians that know how to play their instruments is all I need.........no theatrics etc. To me, music is all about soul, passion or movement. :D

Most Dissapointing Music Moment of 2007? Britney Spears releasing new music, and it actually getting decent airplay.

Most Exciting News of 2007? Where to begin...

Favourite Album of 2007? Maroon 5 "It Won't Be Soon Before Long" or Fall Out Boy "Infinity on High"

Favourite Song of 2007? That changes by the day... started the new year listening to PANIC! at the Disco, had a fleeting moment with Faith Hill's "Stealing Kisses", partied in the Summer to "Crazybitch" and "Paralyzer", had MelRock fest in the fall, all the great 7th Heaven songs (and great covers) heard during a great road trip, and right now, believe it or not I love that song "Apologize" by OneRepublic and Jordin Sparks' "Tattoo".

Best Break Through Act of 2007? Paramore

Best Concert? Melodic Rock Fest... duh.

Saddest Moment of 2007? Personally, my birthday and the following weeks up until mid-November. Musically, Dan Fogelberg passing.

Most Dissapointing Music Moment of 2007? - Journey letting go of Jeff

Most Exciting News of 2007? - That there might be as many as 6 new (worthwhile) rock albums in 2008!(Journey, Foreigner, Def Leppard, Queen + Paul Rodgers, Aerosmith, and supposedly, finally, Trans-Siberian Orchestra)

Favourite Album of 2007? - REO Speedwagon, Find Your Own Way Home

Favourite Song of 2007? - Run Away Baby (REO Speedwagon). A upbeat, feel good pop/rock song. Reminds me a lot of their song I Do' Wanna Know (especially the instrumental break)

Best Break Through Act of 2007? - Wolfgang Van Halen (sure he's no Michael Anthony, but the kid held his own really well!)

Best Concert? - Van Halen at Madison Square Garden (November 13th, 2007)

Saddest Moment of 2007? - Brad Delp's passing (did not get to see Boston again, as well as REO for the first time)

Oh fuck you you knob jockey, i've never been a member of Back Talk, your a new member (like me) so take your head out of Deanos arse (yes "arse" - we made the language, you abuse it) . I mentioned Delp. Im not that interested in the DLR/Val Halen as they arnt touring Britain yet so i dont see the point of raping the news. And i only went to three gigs last year, and JOURNEY were the most enjoyable. And yes the most exciting news for me is that there will be a Journey record next year, closely followed by Jimi Jameson as he is playing near me in March.
