Someone mentioned them in a recent thread. I just read that they not only have a new album coming out in '08, but also a new drummer. This is from their MySpace blog:

Please welcome new Whitesnake drummer Chris Frazier!

Once Again...The Olde Order Changeth!!!

Ladies & Gentlemen...
Please Put Your Hands Together & Welcome To Whitesnake... ( Drum Roll...Yes...REALLY! )

Mr Chris Frazier...Drummer Extraordinaire!!!

The new Whitesnake album 'Good To Be Bad' scheduled for release in the Spring of 2008 will be their 10th studio record & will feature the exceptional percussive talents of Chris Frazier, the latest member to grace the ranks of the band alongside Doug Aldrich on guitar, who also co-wrote & co-produced the album with David Coverdale & Michael McIntyre...Timothy Drury on Keyboards...the terribly good looking Uriah Duffy on horny bass...& Reb Beach on guitar...Chris takes over the drum chair from the ambidextrous Mr Tommy Aldridge, drummer par excellence, who earlier in the year left to pursue alternate musical adventures...We all wish TA well on his journey & take great delight in introducing to you a new, & remarkable talent...so, without further ado...please say hello to Chris Frazier...( Cue The Music!!! )

Holy Fuck, Tommy left?

Fuck....this is bad news!

If there ever was a hard rock band that completely 'Got it' in the past 6-7 years, it's whitesnake. I hope Tommy's departure doesn't change things too much.

If you haven't heard their song "Ready To Rock", it's very cool -- check it out here:

He sings a lot more Robert Plantish in this one -- I believe they wrote it for their Greatest Hits album a year or so ago.

reb beach has played with winger and alice cooper.whitesnake were one of those wise bands who hung it up for a while when grunge hit.bands like motley crue, def leppard, warrant all released alternative sounding albums in the mid 90's with efforts such as generation swine, slang and ultraphobic.meanwhile no one has heard much studio stuff from the snake since slip of the tongue in 1990.would've been something to hear whitesnake release an alternative sounding effort.thank god they didn't do it.one of my favorites is the slide it in release from '84 and the self titled album in '87.good to see whitesnake rocking again.......

WHITESNAKE mainman David Coverdale has posted the following message on the band's web site:

"It is true that tour dates for 2008 are currently being put in place. We will likely start in New Zealand (Rock2Wgtn festival in Wellington) for a one-off in March. We are exploring the possibility of nipping over to Australia for a pint and a show, or two...but, at this time there is nothing positive to offer you. It looks very likely we will be having the distinct pleasure of returning to South and Central America in May, before starting our European run.

"We have some absolutely splendid stuff planned... I can promise.

"The U.S. still manages to elude us, for whatever reason, but, as always, we don't take no for an answer... so, we are still working toward something in my adopted homeland later in the year. In fact, we will try to go anywhere and everywhere we can to present our music to those who want to be bitten by the snake.

"The album is done and has been delivered to the record company as their Christmas present. We're very happy with it, as I have reported to you throughout the year of creating it. I feel it has all the elements WHITESNAKE can offer, and hopefully a little more."

The new WHITESNAKE album, "Good To Be Bad", scheduled for release in the spring of 2008, will be their 10th studio record and will feature the exceptional percussive talents of Chris Frazier, the latest member to grace the ranks of the band alongside Doug Aldrich on guitar, who also co-wrote and co-produced the album with David Coverdale and Michael McIntyre, Timothy Drury on keyboards, Uriah Duffy on bass, and Reb Beach on guitar. Chris takes over the drum chair from Tommy Aldridge, who earlier in the year left to pursue alternate musical adventures.

WHITESNAKE's video for the studio song "Ready to Rock" can be viewed below. The track is one of four previously unreleased cuts that appear on WHITESNAKE's latest live record, entitled "Live… In the Shadow of the Blues", which was issued in Europe in November 2006 via Steamhammer/SPV Records.

Hmm... On that live album, looks like there are actually 4 new studio tracks, and all are quite good, except for "All I Want Is You" -- sounds very much like a retread of "Here I Go Again". Thanks for pointing me that way, Frank!
