The most inane thread I've ever started

Postby ohsherrie » Sun Dec 30, 2007 12:38 pm

I was just doing a crossward puzzle(another of my passions). I don't do easy or cute crosswards. They have to be hard and serious or I don't mess with them.

In the one I just finished the blanks were _ _ _ _ and the clue was "Journey Arms".

I think it's pretty damned great that Journey has made it into the realm of serious crosswards.

OK, continue with what you were doing. :)

I suck at crosswords.
I bet you I would have labored over that clue for 15 minutes before getting it and feeling like a retard.
And this is certainly NOT the most inane thread I've ever seen.

I'm the same way! They have to be BIG crosswords and none of this TV Guide stuff - I prefer the New York Times and I do them in pen! :D Someone said that is the height of arrogance....

I don't always do the entire puzzle, but I will go back to it until I'm sure I can't do anymore. THEN I check for a hint.

I was sitting on a park bench one day, nice breeze doing my NYT (in ink - simply because I did not have a pencil) - and from out of the blue this well-dressed, suited, laptop carrying woman starts screaming at me!!!! It took me a while to figure out what she was upset about - the pen. She went on and on about who do I think I am, and I must think I am so much smarter than everyone else (well, duh) and on and on.

Gotta be done in pen for me. But I think that has more to do with the fact that I can't stand writing in pencil. I never could. Yes, I know. Weird.
