I find it interesting that so many people feel so strongly about the way Journey continues to treat their members and staff, yet are willing to suspend the hostility in the name of Perry... and I'm not picking on anyone for it... not at all - I'm just sayng the mentality is very interesting to me. "That's it, fuck these guys... I'm done with Journey!!!!!... oh wait, that is, UNLESS Perry comes back..."

Does he really hold that much power with the fans or are we just aching for what we know we can't have? The whole thing is interesting. Personally, seeing a Perry/Journey reunion is not something I would even want to witness, given the long drawn out disgusting turn of events with this band, especially after Jeff's needless crucifixion. I think SP is better than all that bullshit and it would be sad to see the last shred of integrity go down the drain, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't go to the show.

BJG, the way I look at it, the only way to bring ONE SHRED of credibility and dignity back to the band is with Perry front and center. That means he decides what, when and how it will go down. It would be worth seeing the look on Neal & Jon's faces when the stadium filled and all eyes and ears were on Perry. It would be great to see how the interviews would be all about him and his return....and not them. It would remind them, in short order, that their popularity and success came and LEFT with Perry. He wouldn't do it anyway, but if he did, I'd be behind it, just to see him twist their balls in a knot....and we know he is more than capable of doing that. It's so obvious now, that he had to keep them under control all those years, or they would have been all over the place bouncing off the walls with their stupid decisions.

Passivity is not a cure for aberrant behavior. Maybe, there is this race thing still going on in the other site because there are a few people in there who actually still in here who just won't stop. Don't blame the defenders. Blame the people causing it!

Hi Susie. What crisis do you now have?

Listen up you dickbreathed pig. I am onto you as well as pedro and that no good piece of shit, Robbie. I will shadow you three collective turds and make your time here a living Hell.

Hahaha, what a lovely welcoming!.

Well some things for the Arnel worshipers to think about first, before jumping the gun as fans always do. These guys have yet to prove themselves, with a new Album, and the tour. Tour will go fine i'm sure, but it's new album we are waiting for!, so in reality - time will only tell.

We all remember when Arrival was released. The BT fans were saying "This the best and strongest JRNY album to date, it's just as good as Escape!, no seriously!". Get a load of the bs talk, that's complete and utter rubbish, that album is good, but it's nothing compared to the Perry and the Rolie era.

Same thing was said for Generations, "This album is the best since Frontiers!" another load of rubbish right there, that album has nothing on any JRNY record, nothing. So it's going to be interesting, and Andrew has already said it anyway, as time will tell.

Yes but there is no facts in this world, it's all theory. And as Andrew has stated already - things have yet to be proven, and so far they have not. And from the footage I saw on Youtube, I am not convinced yet, because only the voice was good, everything was below average. I like Arnel though, and I will give him a chance!, but that's all we do.

i dont't think there is anyone who is begging for "a chance". however, many are asking to not demean, ridicule, or throw mustard on the guys face. when someon says, "he ain't good enough", and the other sayS " i think he is"
both party are claliming unproven facts. the only difference is that the first one is the accuser and the other one is the defender. in youR case, you seem to think the that responder made the first claim when in fact it was the opposite. the accuser has to prove that the guy is not worht anything, and without the performances, not one has the right to judge!

Your screen name, and you say poopfest? Shitfest is what you're looking for. If they'd given another nickel to produce that record, it may have sucked just a bit less. I still think it's cool that Ross finally sang lead on a track.

Thanks for the reply, spell check is a good tool by the way. A little less defensive in future as well.

There is no opinion or case here. The Youtube clips clearly show, exactly what we see. A decent loud voice, but again it's Youtube, so the sound is poor, that's all it is, nothing more, nothing less. As from a performing perspective, well we don't see that either. We all have eyes and ears, and it doesn't take myself to convince people, take a look for yourselves.

The Zoo videos show Arnel working with the crowd that he has. Since he is in Manila at the Hard Rock, or at Brad's Bistro in Olongapo or any other event hall in the Philippines, he will speak "TAGLISH" because that is what the patrons there will do. He interacted with them the same way. He'll say something in Tagalog(Philippines national language) and then mix it with english. Same way some latin performers do it with Spanish and english. (spanglish) So that explains the accent overtones right away. My in-laws have contrasting styles. One speaks perfect english, the other speaks taglish-good english but with a pronounced accent. Arnel is working with a diction coach, that's a good thing and he will improve RAPIDLY.

AS for the stage presence thing, thinking back to "those crazy night I do remember in my youth"...Steve Perry wasn't David Lee Roth, in terms of stage presence, with the spinning back kicks or anything. It's the voice that was the main attraction. We were all for a time,"Raised on Radio" when Music Television wasn't a norm and all that mattered was the music, and it's what will make or break them today.

That's all.

Oh and 1 more thing, even though I disagree with a whole lot of your opinions, I find most of them to be an opposing viewpoint that at least has foundational basis. I might not like the perceptions or mis perceptions but at the same time, I think that opposition views break up a groupthink attitude. That could be either good or bad or indifferent but the dialog has it's place.

I could be wrong, but what if I'm right?

But it was never the clown's fault anyway. He had some anti-social disease due to everyone laughing at him for the past 4 yrs. Schon not knowing that the kid suffered from PSCL (pre schooler's circus life) disorder, wouldn't be responsible either because this case would eventually go before the 9th Circuit, the most liberal court in the country, and it would be determined that no one was at fault because everyone could blame their problems, and thus the immediate issue, on some virtual patsy.

A month later, Journey with a new singer would be playing, and we'd all be in line to buy tix.

later~

GDAMN ! you hit it right on the head. And this is what you get if you vote for Hillary, even more liberal judges making it easier for more and more ill adjusted guitar gods with multitudes of troubled relationships to gun down hordes of preschool kids in clownsuits! :D I can see it now. Quick, go out and donate 25 dollars to Ron Paul , hes the only one who can stop this madness

That is more like it; an observation rather than a criticism. More acceptble format! I just don't think the Journey management would bank on a person that is going to spiral them down. This is a trial before fire with a guilty verdict.

Where at in Olongapo is this Brad's Bistro at? I've not been there for a hell of a long time now but I'm always interested to learn of the changes. I'm guessing it's where the Brown Fox and Mr. Koo's once stood before burning down to the ground, or better yet at where the Chatterbox used to be.

It's part of a pub crawl tour!!!

Postby ttango1 » Tue Jan 01, 2008 11:58 am

www.seahorsetours.com/tour/nightcrawl.pdf

The Nightcrawl
Filipino’s love music and many are very talented. Every year thousands of Filipinos travel to other Asian
countries as musicians and singers. In the navy days musicians looked upon Olongapo as almost a Mecca. The
many clubs offered opportunities that were unmatched in any other part of the Philippines. If a band was lucky
enough to get a gig at a club on the base and the sailors like them, they might get a contract to tour military
clubs around Asia. Olongapo’s music venues have been the breeding grounds for some of Asia’s best
entertainment. Magsaysay drive is the center of it, then and now.

The Nightcrawl is an adoption of the British tradition of the Pub Crawl. A Pub crawl is a tour of some of the historical Pubs in London.
In this version we will take you to some of the nightlife along Magsaysay Drive. The tour departs from the Seahorse Tours and Souvenirs store at 8 pm. With your guide you will visit 4 local clubs spending about an hour in each, three have live music and one is a comedy club. A drink is included at each location. (Order the clubs are visited may change due to group size) A three-minute walk will bring us to the first stop, the Hard Rock Café Subic, Not apart of the world famous nightclub chain it is still a local favorite. The club represents itself as Pizzahaus and Restaurant but most people come for the entertainment. Known for its entertainment, the “Hard Rock” features two bands each evening. The bands may have different styles but play mostly soft rock music from a number of different decades and current top 40 hits.

The second stop is the Brad’s Bistro a newly open club in May 2006,which is off to a flying start. Owned by the same group as Willis Concert Bar it shares many of the same features of that club. There are two bands nightly playing back to back supported by a state of the art sound system and light support. The club is a little on the small side but that adds to the feeling of being involved and close to the bands.

Magsaysay Drive yeah.

Where at on Magsaysay though ttango1? I do vaguely remember a place called Michael Jordan's and it was about a quarter mile from the turn around where Shakey's used to be. M Jordan's was on the street level and it was on the same side of the street as the Chatterbox, or on the opposite side of the street that Rock City, Brown Fox, Mr. Koo's, Apple Rock, and Kong's was on. When I looked at the photo in the link you posted, the place sort of resembles what I remember M Jordan's looked like, so it could be the same place. I lived in the Olongapo for a brief few months. My apartment was on East Tapinac. The owner's brother was the Olongapo's chief of Police. I used to visit Long Road Gordon Highths frequetly.

I would also like to know which major label management met with? This is very new info to me?

Neal is not going to frown on that..Hell they did Soul SirkUs together and got him to get into Journey for the concerts..It doesn't make sense.. There has to be something more.. Maybe it has nothing to do with music at all and its something outside of music..

May have been personal conflicts which they don't want to air out that laundry in public.

That's what I think also!

uh,, guys this is a rock band.. rock bands live for airing out dirty laundry on each other.. we give them way too much credit .. as much as neal talks,, it would be out in the open fast!! and if it were dirty laundry,, the odds are that it would be on the side of the band ,, not jeff.. jeff is the one with nothing bad to say about the band..

btw.. bands fuss over 1) girlfriends messing with other band members,, and 2)money.. doesnt seem that those were ever brought up.. everyone is married ,, less neal.. and contracts were signed..

Perhaps an outsider was causing problems within the band. Someone close to all of them, friends wih all, and began causing too many personal problems and the wives weren't happy about it. My theory: Too much pussy thrown around the guys, some partook and cased friction with those that didn't.
Just my take on things. I've been around bands my whole life starting with my fathers. That kind of stuff goes on all the time and you get a hot guy like Jeff in there and the hotties start to surface, and its hard to say no. NOT saying Jeff or anyone actually did anything, but just having someone bring along a few 'friends" for the guys to hang out with......not good if your one of the wives.
