Why would it be a "crime" to leave off 4 songs the general buying public has never heard? Besides, those all blow anyway. The only songs I could see making a compilation disc (for the sake of argument) are Remember Me and Higher Place (even though I think Higher Place sucks).

Well the general public wouldnt of heard any of the new songs anyway (overall), so if they were to do it they would have to put some songs on it wouldnt they. If Perry sang those songs you wouldnt think they sucked.

"If" my uncle had one more hole he'd be my aunt. The songs aren't good...you'll never see them on any sort of compilation...ever. Besides, to sell something you need demand. I'd say the demand for those songs is probably in the tenns...17 being my guess.
Okay, just out of curiosity, what, in your opinion DOES dictate how good certain songs or an album is? I always thought that was the measurement of gold, platinum, etc. And, if "Look Into the Future" is the greatest Journey song ever written and recorded, why wasn't IT used on the Sopranos or for that matter, everywhere else, these days?ProgRocker53 wrote:Saint John wrote:ProgRocker53 wrote:If Journey releases another career-spanning box set or greatest tracks collection, I honestly think it'd be a crime to leave off "Faith In the Heartland," "The Place in Your Heart," "Out of Harms Way," and "Never Too Late."

I really, truly enjoy those four songs and many people I have discussed Generations with likes those as well. How do those four songs suck anyway? Besides, a "general buying public" shouldn't dictate how good certain songs are. "Look Into the Future" is the greatest Journey song ever written and recorded, but 90% of people who call themselves Journey fans have never heard it. That makes me sad.

Simple- Because LITF lacks catchy hooks and isn't commercially accessible at all, while DSB is one of Journey's "hit single" songs.
If the general buying public, hit singles, mainstreamness, and all that shit determines how good an artist, album, or song is....
....then groups and singers like Vanilla Ice, The Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Insane Clown Posse, Nickelback, Simple Plan, and Toby Keith are better and more credible than groups and singers like Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, King Crimson, Jeff Scott Soto and Talisman, Marillion, King's X, Camel, Mew, and so on. LOL.

Not one of my fave Journey releases, but I do like some songs.
