Yep, another picture where the midget egomaniac guitarist is made out to appear just as tall as the rest of the band (or taller)...and the hireling singer is at least 2 heads understated from the rest of the band.

If this picture doesn't speak volumes to you on precisely what this band thinks of their new singer, you're blind.

that's from the audition and arnel's friend is in the picture, but conveniently cut out here. it is not a band promo being used on the website. i'm sure we can find plenty of meet and greet pictures from augeri's and jss's time that show smiles and *cough cough* unity for the best interests of the fans.

There's nothing 'convenient' about the crop here. Arnel is clearly shorter than the rest of the band. And Journey clearly has no problem with this photo being taken or made public.

matthew, the point i was trying to make was that this was a casual photo not meant to promote the new line-up. i also stated there were many casual photos with augeri and jss that gave the feeling of camradarie. the promo shots for the last few years have clearly made a statement about the band. for the walk of fame interview for a mag, augeri was seated on a step below the rest of the band, for generations promos he was at the end looking away from the band and in others set apart from them. the promo shot with jss set him crouched down and off to the side of the rest of the band.

The pic came from Caveman Productions, so in that sense...it's Kevin Shirley's way of promoting both his work and the band he is working with. Also, isn't it quite fortuitous or coincidental that Kevin posted this pic soon after the announcement went out?

nope you have to lower your eyes to see arnel. try this. save the picture to your hard drive, then open it and see where your eye is immediately drawn. without thinking about it. i bet it goes to neal. that was an exercise that my advertising teacher used to do.

Notice the change in Augeri's position in the pictures. 2001 was definitely trying to make a statement that this was the lead singer. Neal and Jon surrounding Augeri like they "back" him. 2005 Ross, Deen, Neal and Jon all appear to be touching. Augeri is slightly set apart.
