Not one of my fave Journey releases, but I do like some songs.
i dont remember that!
Yeah, I was always yelling at the Frig. He always looked up too, like he was supposed to or something. In Orlando, I yelled at the Frig and he damn near fucked up DSB.

Infact i may even go as far to say that Generation was a very good album with some excellent quality songs. I dont know why i gave this album such a hard time apart from about the sound quality.
So are there other people who have been converted? People who didnt think very much of the record but who can now relise how good it actually is?
Generations is crap - apart from The Place in your Heart - thanks to the soaring guitar from Mr Schon......
Stupid comment. Free speach an all . .but still, stupid comment.
I would say Gordon was pretty right on with his comment! Just because you may think Generations is some sort of a masterpiece (I think it's an abortion!), doesn't mean that it's a "stupid comment" if someone doesn't agree with you. My hunch is that there are more Journey fans who thought Generations left a lot to be desired than those who thought it was good. Even the most ardent Journey fan can't seriously believe that Cain, Valory, and Schon should be singing lead on ANYTHING with the Journey name on it! These guys flat out suck, as lead vocalists!

what's wrong with letting other members having a chance to sing lead? its not like they are bad singers

And it was written and recorded originally for Frontiers!

I'd accept it, as I have many a poster's critique who have ripped the album but clearly demonstrated they actually listened to the songs.
Even if Drew's rating was inflated by say, 10 points max out of Journey loyalty it's still an 81 which is the sites "very good" range.

How about this, I agree with you that The Place In Your Heart is the most Journey-sounding song on the record.
Irony is, if you're locked into the perry sound the most, there's no WAY that song gets cut w/ him at the helm.

Faith In The Heartland-On a scale of 1 to 10 this song is a .4
A Better Life-Potentially the worst song in the history of music. It's redundancy makes one wish Andrea Yates was their mother.
Knowing That You Love Me-Liberace's asshole has more masculinity than this song.
Out Of Harm's Way-Obviously not out of audio harms way while this garbage is playing.
Better Together-Yeah, now here's a song I'd play at a party.![]()
Beyond The Clouds-Audio pollution...plain and simple.
Never To Late-This song could make Terry Schiavo cringe.

Thanks for making me piss myself laughing, SJ! That response should be put in the posting hall of fame! The Liberace line is as funny as funny gets! Here's my true take on Generations...It's really mostly the Augeri crowd who liked it. The wiggle wack jobs simply wanted to support ANYTHING Journey did, as long as Augeri was at the helm. For me, Augeri voice is the only one who should have been heard! Lead singers are lead singers for a reason. I really loved Arrival, but will never comprehend how anyone truly thought Generations was "great", and yes, I have heard some refer to it as "great".

PS, not an "Augeri Guy" per se, although I do prefer him to the other creep.
No, much like my nemisis in this thread, St Canseco, I am a JOURNEY guy. He has his singer preference in sp, so do I (SA/JSS). Doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to them on a go-forward basis.

Work with NealIsGod; very quick on the uptake and he decodes me on first attempt about 80 % of the time.
