OT: Warrant reported to have reunited w/Jani Lane

That's the word, and also that they've already signed w/management.

Blain Clausen of Team Stubner is proud to announce the signing of multi-platinum selling artist WARRANT to the Sanctuary family. The band has recently rejoined with all original members and will be touring nationally as well as a new release in 2008.

I saw Jani solo last year, and he was sober and sounded great! Super nice guy, as was his band. I wish them well... A heck of a talent and songwriter.

I was never a big fan of Warrant to begin with but Jani Lane is one messed up individual.

Thats awesome!!! I was a fan with Jani but never got into the Black-N-Blue singer fronting them. Ive seen Jani as well solo and when hes straight he is a very talented musician and song writer. Didnt he get sober during the "Celebrity Fit Club" thing 2 years ago?

Simply by producing Cherry Pie, quite possibly the single most banal song to come out of the so-called "hair metal" era, Warrant has earned my complete and utter indifference. Can't get at all excited about this news.

There were actually a few good bands to come from this period: TNT, Whitesnake, House of Lords, Shotgun Messiah, Firehouse, Dokken (in their better moments), Mr. Big, Tyketto, Tesla, Great White, Y & T...they were all there for the finding, if you had the patience to sift through all the bullshit.

Warrant never did a thing for me...

It's a shame that Janie has been on the Back Talk diet for the better part of the last decade. He used to front a pretty good band.

Sobering up did worlds for him, and he looked and sounded great. He needs to keep working on those inner demons, I'm sure, but as long as he stays off the bottle, I think he'll do fine. And yes, to the question about Celeb Fit Club, he did start getting sober there and apparently kept it up.

Many of their "hits" were not their best material. They really shined on their later albums. When I first heard "Down Boys", that first impression killed them in my mind. I liked "Cherry Pie" and "Uncle Tom's Cabin", but you might want to check out their later albums for better stuff.

Very true John, wish I'd spent less time checking out Bon Jovi (pretty tunnel visioned back then :lol:

) and more time checking out Mr. Big, Tesla, etc. back in the day! Some of the live Mr. Big concert footage I've seen, they kicked some major booty live it seems, wish I'd caught one of their shows.....talented group.

I like Down Boys, Cherry Pie and Heaven.

Haven't heard their new lineup yet but am waiting to buy Born Again when I come across it.

Knowing that Lane makes Vince Neil look more sober than a trooper at a sobriety checkpoint I see zero chance of it happening.

I remember taping a whole bunch of great hair band videos, interviews, etc. on a 4 hour tape. I need to find that tape and put it on dvd......probably not the greatest quality by now. :lol:

There was videos from Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Skid Row, Y&T, Kingdom Come, Journey, Dokken, Robert Plant, White Lion, Honeymoon Suite, Stryper, etc.........

RR's right... With Warrant, and some of the other bands Johnroxx mentions he didn't like...you have to look at what was not released to radio. One of the bands that stands out on that list is Europe. If you get past the crap like TFC and dig deeper into their catalog you find some really good material, but they feel victim to what their record label wanted out and therefore, that is the image they got.

Maybe now all of Warrant, and not just Lane, can come perform at the bar 'n grill 3 minutes down the road from me.

I'm not even kidding, Lane opened up for "Live DJ: 10-1" about seven months ago at a back-alley bar in a town of 25,000.

I am reserving belief of this until I see an official announcement.

Their split was far from amicable. I have spoken to Jani and the way he talks of it was not good at all.

But Jani IS a helluva songwriter responsible for all the songs up to Ultraphobic. Dog Eat Dog is definately the BEST CD by the band. If they do reunite I will listen anxiously...but I will not hold out for longevity.

As for Jani's sobriety, he has fallen off that wagon several times. It has destroyed his chances at solo success. He was set to release an official version of his first solo CD Jabberwocky and supposedly had more songs in the works. When sober he is great, but Rick's avatar fits Jani to a tee

As a prelude, only a month or two ago there was an article that he'd "buried the hatchet" with the Warrant guys, and would not rule out a future reunion.

Dude, I am a HUGE Warrant fan so I could be here ALL day listing great songs. But to pick a relative unknown song that I just love: Stronger Now from Ultraphobic. (Trust me)

All of Dog Eat Dog is amazing. This is their best work. It rocked harder and it was mostly void of the stupid over-sexed crap prevalent on Cherry Pie. Jani is a great story-teller. Check out Andy Warhol was right or April 2031! And to top it all off, Joey finally recorded the guitar parts.
