What's your pick for top album of 1988?

This one's an easy one for me..."Operation: Mindcrime" by Queensryche.

This is the only Van Halen CD I own - and I bought it for "Finish What You Started" and stayed for the rest of them! :D

Have you ever even heard the album? You say that other than Journey you only like Brian Adams. So I don't know how you can even be objective on lists like these?

You need a good online asswhippin and I am fixin to give it you...tonight, dickhole.

I'm an American. You know damn well I'm not gay!

Did I say that THTS is better than those other albums? No, I did not. I just said it's ONE of the best Melodic Rock albums ever.

But truth be told, yes, it's better than all of those except maybe Frontiers.

You didn't answer my question, have you ever hear Too Hot To Sleep? If not, then you can't be taken seriously when talking about it.

Hey Miss, I DO think you like penis. Anyone who thinks fucking Survivor is better than BA, Journey or even that assclown Bon Jovi needs to be put to sleep. And no, you cannot have a dick in your ass either.

BA is alright, he had some good songs, but seriously, Survivor Rock a million times more than he ever has! I didn't say that Survivor are better than Journey.

And the fact that your never capable of having a serious and mature conversation proves that you can't be taken seriously.

Do you think your a damn genius because you can swear at people? Wow, I'm impressed.

Deb, How did I know you were voting for that one?? ;) Seriously, though, I played NJ to death in '88, and WELL in to '89. Great album.

Abso-freakin-lutely! When I was first looking at it, I thought that year must have been pretty weak, but I did also enjoy Robert Plant "Now & Zen", Priest "Ram It Down", DLR "Skyscraper" to a point, U2 "Rattle & Hum", and the VH album. "Mindcrime" takes them all, though. Too bad they've forgotten how to rock now, and "Mindcrime II" was complete and utter crap IMO. A huge letdown after all the hype!

Another great year! The year when someone gave me an audio cassette with Operation Mindcrime that was actually a copy of the album.
I had no idea who Queensryche was...I remember playing the tape and the first thing I heard was ..."Hello...Helloooo?....Perhaps you need another shot....Sweet dreams...you bastard." 8)
Then the music...OMFG! "Revolution Calling","Suite Sister Mary","I Don't Believe In Love"...The whole album was a Masterpiece.

Still believe that even after all these years no one can match this brilliant production.
A huge vote from me.

And we're in step again! A huge from from me as well! I don't think the poppy crap like New Jersey or OPEN UP holds a candle to this piece. STILL brilliant! (though the sequel sucked pretty hard!)

U2 Rattle & Hum. Their worst album - but still better than the rest of the shit in the late '80s.

Jovi's New Jersey was a number one album with god knows how many number one hits for a reason. Hands down, best album that year. Halen's ou812 comes in a close second though.

When I read that list of albums I somehow missed where he said Escape. So I just want to point out that along with Frontiers I put Escape up there with Too Hot To Sleep also.
