My AOTW is softer today: Signal 'Loud & Clear.'

Is it Mark Free week? Great singer!

My AOTW has a different singer though: Savatage - Handful Of Rain.

Going back to Nightwish "Dark Passion Play." Looks like I'll miss their second US tour as well. The nearest show next year is a 1000+ mile drive. :(

Great album right there! 'Chance' is still my favorite Savatage tune! A shame there won't be anymore albums, what with their success in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

But then, Circle II Circle has been a worthy substitute. Zak Stevens can still belt it out.

Yeah, I really like Chance as wel.

CIIC are great as a follow up for Savatage, though it feels a little like a 'Savatage-light' situation. They still sound very much like Savatage even though they write their own songs these days. Not sure whether that is a good thing or a bad thing (the musical alikeness, that is). Still, I do like their music very much.

I like any song where Zak gets to sing point-counterpoint. He does a couple of those on Wake of Magellan quite nicely too. Definitely a good singer. CIIC is not bad, but a little bland.

'Talk' by Yes - Track 2, 'I am waiting'....I defy anybody to not be moved by this piece of music.

I just got a large shipment of cds in this week, so it may be awhile before I've filtered out a standout AOTW.

AOTW is Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Christmas Eve and Other Stories. I'm seeing them tomorrow and thought I would get myself a little psyched.

Symphony X - Paradise Lost. Unbelievably great record. For me it's one of the best records I've heard the past couple of years even.

I'm picking The Codex "S/T"

It's great to see Mark Boals come out of nowhere to deliver another amazing vocal performance.

I'm wondering if maybe Frontiers Records should just let Magnus Karlsson write all their melodic rock projects from now on. 4 of my 5 favorite albums from that label in the past 3 years are all his own. (Starbreaker, The Codex, both Allen/Lande albums.)
