Why does there have to be a competition between Bryan Adams and Survivor? Personally I like them both a lot. BA is a bigger star, and Survivor is a great band. Why start anything over it?

Like I said, I do like some of Bryan Adams songs. I saw him in concert once in the early 90's. I just think that any Rock fan should realize that Survivor are better Rockers than BA. I never actually said anything bad about BA. I just pointed out to Deano that since he only seems to like Journey and Bryan Adams that he can't objectively comment on what bands I or anyone else like.

Hard to compare a group with a single artist (even with his backing band).
Like comparing Mellencamp with REO or Pat Benatar with Heart.
Well, that last one's easy for me, Benatar all the way.

BA I think used to be a better rocker. He went soft and started singing about underwear and all sorts of fruity shit. But the new album will redeem him right Denao?

Pat Benatar's husband/guitarist/producer grew up on the street behing my street.
Ben Orr of The Cars grew up a few streets over.
And Billy Morris of Warrant grew up a few streets away from mine too. We all wen't to the same high school.

How so? Didn't know that.

Glass Tiger was a Canadian band.
I could cheat and go look it up but if I remember right, he backs them on their biggest single and sings at least one of their other songs (which also did pretty well).
I think they toured on the ROR opening some shows along with Honeymoon Suite, Outfield.
But after '86, I don't remember anything from them.
Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone) - Bryan Adams backing.

Glass Tiger opened up on ROR for 90% of the shows. The Outfield opened 4; Honeymoon Suite opened 2 (if you count opening for The Outfield and Journey as 1), and Concrete Blonde 1 (if you count opening for Glass Tiger and Journey as 1).

Smitty drumming on a BA song? BA gets my vote just for that.Wait, did Smitty ever drum for Survivor?
Those opening counts read like an Algebra problem.
Didn't Angel's Camp Mountain Aire show have GT opening? I was there but not sure. HS and Outfield for sure.
Marzdog wrote:GT did not open at Mountain Aire. As I posted in another thread, Device (sp?), HMS, and The Outfield opened Mountain Aire 1986. Cyndy or Lora care to chime in on that? Andrew, I believe Device/Devise was an Aussie band...female lead singer, a bit "electronic"...
As far as Smitty on Drums for BA, it is true, he did drum on "Heaven", just as the Frig played keyboards for Sammy on "Remember The Heroes."StoneCold wrote:

I can't remember his name but Benatar's husband was a damn good guitarist. Not a legend but good hooks.
