As much as I'd get a major warm/fuzzy feeling from seeing Favre win this weekend (and that's likely to happen, IMHO), I sincerely hope that both my Bolts, and Sheli and his Gnats, can pull off upsets, so we can smack the ever-living dogshit out of that whiny little bitch in the SB.

Right now, I can't think of anything short of winning the lottery that would make me happier.

That's all... 8)

After seeing Tommy's ass, I feel compelled to offer up my ass as well.

Here I am in snowy Waukegan, IL, after busting my hand in a drunken rage at a bar afdter seeing Journey go through the motions in Waukegan 2 yrs ago. Many thanks to Sadie for this. She is great.

Not really, Dean. LOL.

I just want a really good Super Bowl, not a blowout. I think GB and NE have the best chance for that.

A few things about the pats. The Giants had them on the ropes for 3 quarters 2 weeks ago. Obviously, the 4th quarter made the difference and as Deano says, a W is W. But let's stop fucking crowning NE before they earn it. They've got 2 more games to win and if the Giants get past the cheesers (which I admit, is a challenge in itself) The Pats will have to deal with a team that almost took them 2 weeks ago, but will be exploding with a shitload more confidence. It's not a cakewalk by any means....there is NO team still in this that doesn't have to EARN IT....and the pressure is going to get that much greater for NE because of their regular season record.

As for Brady, Lets not all start sucking his cock either. Brady may have completed 26 passes this past week, but every one of them was inside pass coverage. That's sorta like bunting an entire 9-innings knowing the opposing pitcher has a bum leg. Kudos to Video-check for figuring out that they would be able to advance the ball without exposing the ball....but I'm not ready to make Brady out to be the football equivalent of David Wells just yet.

Wells is a nasty taco and milkshake eatin motherfucker, who once brought in none other than Mark Furman to the Yanks clubhouse.

Sorry Frankie, I think Brady is a shining example of what a professional athlete should be. Responsible, respectful and he bangs HOT chicks.

David Wells threw a perfect game in 1998. Obviously, different sports....but it seems that the football press seems hell bent on crowning Brady better than all of the Montanas, Youngs and Marinos combined.

I'm not talking about Character.

Like I said, I'm not ready to crown this guy king yet...Bradshaw and Johnson needs to have their production staff cut whatever is in their 'coffee' mugs with a good 8 oz of regular water. Because whatever they're drinking is clouding their judgment.

Well, I don't know about better than all of them combined. That's a bit of a stretch, even for a New England fan. That said, you're talking about the guy like he's some stiff, and I'm pretty sure he has three championships under his belt, and probably has another 5 years left in his career! As for the guys you mentioned, I grew up a HUGE Montana fan, and I would absolutely say that Brady is on par with Montana, and actually a very similar QB. As for Young and Marino...I would say it's not even close, based on accomplishments. Brady could stop playing right now, and he's ahead of those two greats, and again, Brady has only had Moss this one season. Young had Jerry Rice to throw to for every game of his career, and Marino had Clayton and Duper for most of his career and still couldn't win anything! You don't have to like Brady, but if he wins another one this season, you're not going to be able to make much of an argument (at least intelligently) that there are too many guys who were any better, and if he doesn't win another one, he's at least still in the discussion!

Brady, ahead of the Great Dan Marino. I want what you are smoking, and hopefully that ain't a bag of dicks.

I do think Brady is as good if not better than Young.

Sorry Dean...I'm not someone who genuflects at the statue of Marino. I thought the guy was a great QB, who has stats up the ass. The guy ALWAYS had better numbers than Montana, and I always thought Montana was the better QB. The name of the game in the NFL is WINNING, and Brady ranks number one with a 77.6% winning percentage, ahead of Roger Staubach 74.6% and Joe Montana 71.3% for all time winning percentage, in NFL history! For the record, Marino isn't in the top 5. That's to say nothing of his three championships versus Marino's ZERO championships. If it all comes down to numbers for you, I'm pretty sure Brady answered that question this season, by throwing more TD passes in a season, than Marino ever did. I'm not saying Marino sucked. The guy was a no-brainer, first ballot, hall of fame selection. For me, it simply comes down to winning, and that's how I've always judged NFL QB's

Chargers have a lot to play for

Postby ttango1 » Tue Jan 15, 2008 10:19 am

If Merriman can just inject 1 bit of passion into a crushing hit on Brady plus Cromartie can match Moss athletically, it will be a close game PROVIDED that LT and Rivers play. The backups can do what they did for a quarter, maybe even a half but for a full game, that will make it tough.

If the weather plays and throwing the ball is too difficult, I then give the edge to the Chargers because both LT and Michael Turner are tougher runners than Laurence Maroney and Kevin Faulk. 8)

Early reports are for a high temperature of a balmy 15 degrees and clear skies. It's only Monday, so this could all change. I'm sure your boys from sunny southern California where Dean bragged it was 72 today will feel right at home with 15 degrees. As for your assessment, I actually agree with you, 100%. If San Diego is healthy, they could potentially hang with the Patriots, based on what I watched yesterday. That said, they look anything but healthy, with some key guys ailing. San Diego clearly has the better running game, but I'm not sure how effective LT is going to be, considering they didn't have the game wrapped up yesterday, and he simply couldn't get on the field! San Diego also had the better running game earlier in the season and got blown off the field! I think the Patriots passing game is FAR superior to anything San Diego has, even if Gates was 100% healthy, which he isn't! I think the best chance San Diego has this week is for LT and some of those other guys to keep their pie holes shut and not made moronic comments to the media, about the Patriots! The Patriots already DESPISE the Chargers, so I'm not sure it would be a good idea to give them any more ammunition! That all comes down to coaching. You've NEVER heard any member of the Patriots make one single disparaging word about a single opponent, since Bellichick has been there!

As for Cromartie taking Moss away...go right ahead. Moss had 1 catch for 14 yards against Jacksonville, and the Patriots still managed to find some other guys to catch the ball. Jacksonville did a GREAT job taking Moss out of the game, but are playing golf right now! Focusing on stopping just one guy is exactly what the Patriots want the opposing team to do. There are two key matchups in this game that I think will be the reason the Patriots win. First and foremost, the QB position. Brady is simply the best QB in the NFL, and that's tough to overcome. The other critical position that NE has a decisive advantage at is head coach! I like my chances with Bellichick on the sidelines, if the game comes down to a critical coaching decision!

I don't think they can, Favre's has been stuck there so long it will never come out.
