At this moment, it's between Mercury and Perry, Mercury is slightly ahead with Perry bringing up the rear.....

At least it looks like there are intelligent people voting, if it's between Perry and Mercury! I wasn't a die hard Queen fan growing up (althought did like a lot of their material), but Freddie could flat out sing. I always thought Perry was in a league by himself, but Freddie was probably the second best vocalist I ever heard.

Between Freddie and Perry, it's going to be a tight race. Axl Rose fans are keeping him in the game pretty close to those two so if we want our boy to win, we need to be vigilant.

Hey John

For a lot of people it is not an easy call.

Most Perry fans are Freddie fans as well ..... guess they know how to spot true vocal talent. Many of them are having a tough time.

As Moon Beam said, being second to Freddie is not altogether a bad thing .......

I will stick with Perry. He was more straight on vocals (and no I don't mean "straight" "that" way).

Freddie, a great vocalist and songwriter was also a great performer. He had scenarios and costumes and out right drama.

The closest thing Perry came to a costume was those tails. Journey had some great sets - however the set was the background - not the jungle gym.

The category is for vocalist, and to me that is Perry.

Now if it were "Frontman", Freddie would have my serious consideration.

Freddie was very hit and miss live though which makes Perry the more complete package as a vocalist.

Coming out of lurkdom to post this. Nicked it from the votenumber1 forums...pretty much sums up my feelings.

I am hoping Freddie wins, though, as I feel Steve was more of a crooner, which limited his style, whereas Freddie could handle just about any genre with style and power.

I just went and read a few posts. There is a LOT of support for SP and FM over there. Good to see.

I think it was Freddie's performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" that really got my attention. I'm not sure that anyone else could have pulled that song off!

Things Are Changing

Postby CatEyes » Tue Jan 15, 2008 4:55 am

OK folks -

The site is now listing the names in order (highest to lowest)

They are starting to eliminate nominees. Now departed are:

Paul Rodgers
Jim Morrison
Bono

We need to vote. If you voted today prior to the reformatting of the list, you can vote again :twisted:

http://www.votenumber1.com/vote1malerocksinger.html

Pls note that the newly formatted page has a new url - if you have the old page bookmarked you are probably still waiting for it to load!!

Perry = 12.61%
Freddie = 12.9%

Last time I checked, 12.9 is bigger than 12.61. Freddie is still in front.
