Exactly, he was vulnerable and that left him open to and wanting to be filled up spiritually-they bodysnatched him. Obviously Nicole wouldn't
go for it and he ditched her. She probably played along for a while.

I've heard the same. I never read the books (would like to out of curiousity though), or learned that much about him, but I was told that he later admitted to making the whole entire thing up. Yet his sheeple still fork over their dough... um... alright. Well I guess we all have our vices. ??

Make that 3 of us... I've heard that too.

Yeah, I heard that, too. The guy was into all kinds of occult practices. He was an evil dude, that's for sure.

And I've been saying this for years... I've never seen an actor (or any celebrity for that matter) so obsessed with his image before -- he's alllll about image and publicity, and you can tell when you see him speak, every gesture, every facial expression, every little cock of his head seems calculated to make him look as dashing, intriguing, whatever. He just comes off like an android, trying to put forth this image that he really is the guy you see in the movies. I heard that the cast from "Lions and Lambs" (Robert Redford, Meryl Streep) wouldn't even associate with him, they couldn't stand him that much.

There was a story just in the past few days about Katie Holmes appearing on David Letterman, and how robotic she seems. This new unauthorized autobiography of Cruise sounds like it's full of pure libel, but who knows -- might be some stuff in there that makes him nervous. He is a sham, and I hope his warts and skeletons get exposed for the whole world someday to knock him off his horse.

How do you have an "unauthorized autobiography"?

FREAK!! He's fucked up and I looked into Scientology a few years ago and they are all about the money.

I just don't care for any kind of organized religion and L. Ron Hubbard was not exactly mentally stable.

I agree with you..although I wouldn't call him a freak...even though the brainwashing is making him appear as one. I kinda feel sorry for him in a way....I think he just needed to reach for something real to try to stay grounded after being in a place that is so fake. Unfortunitely, what he has found is also a fake to begin with. I have read Hubbards book and he just took the philosophies from various others and wrote it in his sci-fi manner just to make money...nothing he said was from his own "spiritual awakening". While it comes across as having good worthwhile ideals they are not his own and he plagarized others. Some, like Cruise, just took it in the beginning at face value and then got lost to it...the ideals are what lure people to follow others and they fall into this kind of thing when they are searching for something they are not finding on their own. This is another example of why I also do not care for organized religion. I have read and study most religious philosophies..and non-religious based philosophies...and I think that it is worthwhile to take some of the concepts away from many of them..what you agree with and feels right to you and that are worthwhile meanings....but not fall into any one one of them where you are no longer thinking for yourself. People need to look within themselves to find what they need and choose carefully on who they have closest to them. They need to take lessons from a variety of sources and come to their own conclusions to what they feel is right and what way they will conduct themselves and in how they will give back to the world. They need to learn to stand on their own and find peace within themselves and form their own convictions and follow their own moral compass.... not just be a follower who cannot think for themselves and be lead like a robot. It is human nature to search for truth and answers ...and we do need to and should learn from others... we just have to be careful where we think we've found them and not lose ourselves in the process.
Just my opinion.

I do believe I've read his childhood wasn't that great... broken home, or something like that.

It's called 'short syndrome'. What is he, like five-foot-nothin? It's the actor's ego - if they've played the part, then in real life they are just that. All of the bigtime characters have become part of his daily persona. He probably believes that he really is a former Naval lawyer or a CIA secret agent and he's become larger than life. Lotta big time rock stars kinda get in a similar way too.

That's when one of your personalities doesn't consent to another one writing the book.

In Cruise's case, this probably makes sense.

Usually, the term "Unauthorized Biography" brings one thing and one thing only to mind -- DIRT. On the best side, they claim to offer an unwhitewashed look at the subject, and on the worst side, they may contain B.S. tantamount to libel. Some, then, are very good and tastefully done, with great research and solid sources, while others are nothing but hit-and-run hack jobs filled primarily with rumors and innuendos offered by anonymous sources. Either way, they seem to use that term to reel in the buyers who hope to get some dirt.

I understood that your reply was to Tomulator. (still not sure you're totally 'in' on what transpired up there... look up "autobiography" and come back to the table for cake and ice cream... we'll save you a spoon)
