What about a top ten hit ...hell top 20 ......for fuck sake top 100.....what about actually making a profit on one(I'm sure Neil would kind of lean in that direction)I mean a real profit one they could HEAD LINE sold out stadium venues....and make real big money on the road....They better rub a fuckin lamp for that to happen!

You think 100,000 Filipinos will buy the new Journey record, sound unheard, just because the new singer is a Fillipino citizen? That has a little undercurrent of racism, to be honest.

You back yours. It's quite easy to spend cash on someone that is from your country. It happens all the time there. It's not like they don't know the All the songs, the GH Journey catalog is very popular and many will buy it because they know he sang it well enough to be tabbed frontman for this huge band in America.

There are actually closer to 90 Million Filipinos in a more up-to-date study and in the US over 2.4 Million people who are Filipino according to estimates in the US. Every major band out there that has a prominent Filipino performing has easily sold over 1 Million records. While it's true that some of the sales is because of that ethnic tie-in, the bulk of it is because other ethnicities thought the music was good. Whether it be Nicole of PCD, Apl D Ap of Black Eyed Peas, or Kirk Hammett of Metallica. The music was good and fans all over the world buy.

All I'm saying is it'd be nice to have the idea that the record sells well because the music is good, not because of the nationality of one of the band members. What do you mean, "I back mine?"

the idea that a certain music is an abosolute good recording is not dependent from a certain sect of society alone. If a certain group of people thinks it is good enough for them, then it is good for them even though joe blow does not think otherwise. how many bands are there in the u.s. and how many hits are there? are all of them good? i love the group YES and feel they are the ultimate art band but what do you feel about them? it is all subjective. the thing is that, people can make claims without supporting facts. what is a good journey music? is it a power ballad? a rocking tune? a midtempo? The reality of the numbers is presented right in your screen. it cannot be denied!
LMAO ok lets see what happens when the album hits the stores if it's crap no matter what language it is ...it's still crap..and sales will show it...and so will the critics whether here or in whatever music magazine you choose but of course there might be 100,000 to say other wise

what is a crappy album? and by who's definition? yours? you already made a decision before it came out. but i will challenge you to a bet or to anyone: if it reaches beyond 100,000 sales by december 2008, you agree to disappear from this board forever or make a concession of ere. i will agree to disappear forever from this board and i will concede my error. anyone? let's put all our theoris to test!!
I thought you said 200,000 in sales earlier!

i looked up and don't believed i said 200,000 sales. 100,000 sales in the u.s. by december 2008 and another 100,000 sales outside by march 2009 (just give it six months from the start of sales outside the u.s.) i am taking your bait!

I can't make sense of what you are saying....Anyway....I would be amazed if 1/10th of the fillipino population knew that Journey was still around, or cared about the nationality of their lead singer. Stop making this a "Fillipino" thing. Are you Fillipino? Is that why you have such a desire to push that angle in every post?

That's what I am trying to figure out Jeremey. I have previously asked Arnelian to fill us in on where they are posting from right now...but as yet, no answer.

I can't make any sense of what he says most the time either. It's like Ebonics or something. That's how come it's a dead giveaway where this person's posting from and what nationality they are. This person Arnelian is a Filipino, the guy Noel from the Rolling Stone magazine article who was the one posting up the Zoo videos contacted me and told me to get in touch with Arnelian. Noel said that Arnelian was on "our side." I then got a pm on this site from Arnelian to go onto some other site that was pro-Arnel or something. I never went on it but I contacted a friend of mine well you could say is a fucking genius hacker who had some spare time on his hands and is on the east coast about the situation I was having with Susie and so he did some poking around for me and found that Arnelian and Susie were up to something together, not sure what it was myself because I was too busy buying ammo, cleaning my guns and perhaps maybe even adding a few improvised bouncing betty's to my landscape.

Bottom line here is Noel, Susie and Arnelian are involved together with this whole thing. And from what my associate on the east coast found, it's expected that Noel is all the three under complete different user names. Anyways, take that information as you will. This Arnelian is up to dealing hype, I think it's just Noel from the Philippines practicing his marketing techniques. I just find the entire thing with the Arnelians and Susie completely comical at best.

Andrew, have you ever been to the Philippines brother? I do not think you have because you are very innocent in your dealings with Arnelian.

Let me tell you a little bit of something. When you go to the Philippines, people right off the street will flock you and say "I know you" even though you've never seen the fucker in your entire awake and dreaming life. Since it's your first time, they will know it is because first off your looking all over the place and second, when they say "I know you" and you stop and look at them, they got your bite and now they are going to set that hook by striking up a conversation based on something that they think they know about you. So this is what Arnelian is in the process of doing right now. Gathering information, noting down your points of view, likes, dislikes, the whole nine yards. What's all it going to lead to? Money. And that is why they involved me. What would I have? Don't know but since they were so persistant on acquiring photo's, personal information and most of all the videos that I had recorded of Arnel, AMO and I on some occasions singing together back 20 years ago, it may not be worth a plug nickel in the states, but I'm sure they could have marketed this stuff over in the Philippines and Asia. I gave my word to a few very important people, Arnel included, that I would not release anything to anybody under any circumstances. My computer got hacked shortly after I had made that clear to some of these people like Susie. Guess they thought I was bullshitting when I said that I didn't have anything on my computer. When I had a specialist take a look at my computer because it was fucked raw, I was informed that my shit was in fact hacked into. I laughted because I knew whoever did it got a big fat nothing out of doing it.

So a word from the wise who has lived in the Philippines, watch your shit when dealing with some of these Arnelians. Not all of them are like this and those are the ones that are not on the net like Arnelian. Just watch your back because they mean business.....nothing but business.

I have been aware of this the whole time...just not saying as much. In fact, I believe they are all the one person and think it is time to close Arnelian's account.
Even if it isn't the same person, this is not a message board for blatant propaganda pushing.

Indonesia. Much the same culture as far as attacking tourists, but those guys work for $4 a day. Can't say I blame them.

Either way, we are removing one problem remaining on this board right here and now.

You're absolutely right. They are "pretending NOT to just be nostalgic"... but they don't have any choice. Journey fans want to hear the classics from the Steve Perry era, and they want to be nostalgic. The overwhleming majority of them don't even care if Journey ever puts out another album. If Perry came back and they recorded a new album, they might be able to crack one-million on sales if they do a really good job. But as far as a Perry sound-alike goes, a new album wouldn't sell more than 100k.

One noticable flaw in the census is:

According to the figures, San Mateo has 60,000 Filipinos alone, SF (San Francisco) has 40,000 and the Bay Area has a total of 24,000. But the thing is, San Mateo is just one city within a whole group of cities, SF is another city within this group that make up the entire Bay Area.

Bottom line: What Stevew2 said.

Nah. You've got intense passion but it doesn't get in the way of commonsense. 8)

My only online gaming fix is Half-Life, and that is a pic of the main character, Gordon Freeman.

I never, ever thought I would play computer games, and got drug into it kicking and screaming. It wasn't long before I was hooked though. A few friends from work and my brother will all get online and just massacre each other. It's a lot of fun.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
