Papa John's has the WORST crust in the world. It tastes like it's been sitting out in the kitchen for a few days or, probably a more accurate description is that it's two year old shoe leather. The toppings are good but it doesn't really matter if the foundation sucks.

The water? NY is a filthy toilet of a city. WE have the clean water. Care to explain missy?

ny has good tap water, really.

as for the toilet water here in california, only one community is doing that and it's not ours!

It is true..you wouldn't think so..but New York does have really good tap water.

Sadie. My wife and I have been talking about taking a trip to Chicago in the next couple of years. What is the best pizza joint in town?

Yes. Imgine an orgasm. Add pepperoni.

Frank, it's go time.  It's not a loaf of bread with cheese and sauce. If that's what you had, you were at the wrong place. Your normal mom-and-pop pizza joints don't do that. And deep dish isn't the only kind, it's just what we're "known for" I guess. You hit a deccent mom/pop joint, get yourself a regular pizza, which by the way must be cut into squares, not god damned triangles, and THAT is pizza. :D

The best pizza is somewhere between the thin crust and Chicago-style pizzas. Thin crust just doesn't have enough substance and Chicago-style is too much like eating a thick, nasty ham sandwich. If you have to eat it with a fork, it ain't good pizza.

So true. Grid cut pizza is the best!!!!

There are so many mom and pop pizza places scattered throughout the city. Of course there's Uno's and Gino's East but I love the mom and pop places the best. Porretta's...sigh.

Frank... oh dear Frank. I like you but... are you crazy? New York? That thin-ass floppy crap? *sigh*

egh, Chicago pizza aint pizza...that's like a loaf of bread with sauce and cheese on it. There's a subtle difference between excessively abnormal and spectacular....

Afa NY is concerned, any good pizza shop here in the big apple will serve 2 difference styles of pie. Regular round and a Sicilian (square) pizza. The Sicilian is about as thnk as anyone should go. Once you start getting into the rediculousness of Chicago pizza, like I said, it's like a loaf of bread with sauce and cheese. About as normal as a v8 in a ford pinto.

See now, as someone who has lived in the Chicago area her whole life, I must disagree with your assessment of Chicago pizza. I can't speak about New York pizza, because I've never been to New York to try it. A pan pizza in Chicago really is a slice of heaven. But you can't get it from one of the chains. Rosati's, Malnati's, and Eduardo's are local chains (I don't know if they are in any other areas of the country or not), and they're pretty good. The best are the ones you find at your local Mom & Pop pizzerias. Everyone around here seems to have their own favorites. Luckily the hubby and I pretty much have the same taste in pizza. I love that I have to eat a slice of pizza with a knife and fork!

That's nuts man, we still eat p-pies at local small joints with check design tablecloths.
Cini flavored pie pieces we see here at Pizza Hut.

Papa Johns is gut wrenching horrible.

Domino's is good, esp the special of large pizza "anyway you want it" for $10.99

The best is the way I make one. I will make one and take a pic of it. Truly delicious.
When in doubt, DUCK!

U kidding me? I was born in Brooklyn!! Nothing compares to Ray's in Manhattan, takes me back to my childhood....but seriously, I do like the D's thin crust mainly because it's not that bad on the waist line for a pizza...Chicago pizza, NY cheese fest, etc., can ruin a dude's figure after 40!

U should try the pizza here in Sweden...really, really good....NOT!!!!

OH man, Ray's!!!! NOW you're talking! Next time you're in Manhattan (the center of the universe to the rest of you), you gotta try Mondello's on E37th between 5th and Madison. The sauce is to die for.

And what's with the waist line shit??? There's no crying in baseball and there's no middle ground with pizza! What, you're gonna start with fat free ice cream next?? Eat the best and do a few more reps with the weights!

Cheers-
