NY Times is retracting the statement about MK's apt.

Dr. Drew (of Celebrity Rehab) is on CNN and he said that OTC sleeping pills can be worse than prescription sleeping pills. The OTC ones often have Tylenol in them and that is very deadly in high doses.

From what I've heard, it is. He was already working on another film. A lot has been made of his work on the Batman movie. Evidently, he was playing the Joker SO dark, it was affecting him off the set, too. He said in an interview that he was so wound up, he had taken an Ambien to sleep and it didn't work. Holy crap! If you can't sleep after taking those... So, if he had any depression/anxiety issues, acting like a complete psycho could have really been difficult. Time will tell.
