There were truly TWO different Survivors....
The Bickler Era.....and The Jamison Era....we all hold on to the one we liked most, and are fiercely loyal to that era...I respect that in Survivor fans....

I think that's why a lot of people like Too Hot to Sleep. Effectively, it was 50% progression of WSC (Desperate Dreams, Didn't Know It Was Love, etc), and 50% Bickler-era (She's a Star, Can't Give It Up, Burning Bridges, etc). There were definitely parts of Caught in the Game that were heading towards Vital Signs, regardless of what the cd would have sounded like if Dave had not left. Still, the change in sound for Vital Signs was fairly dramatic, and a far cry from the Tiger/Premonition days, and Jamison's voice is considerably different in delivery to essentially be the same range as Bickler.
The harder part of THTS was effectively Jamison singing Bickler-era material. Forget the pop of most of Vital Signs and at least the first half of WSC (the second half was definitely heavier), this was Survivor back to rocking. Debatedly, it was probably Jamison's best vocal work on an album, and live, Bickler killed on the material after he came back....though he struggled with Desperate Dreams a bit!
To some extent, Too Hot To Sleep mended the two camps into a cohesive whole. Too bad there was never a true follow-up to the album. The long-rumoured Bickler album in the 90s would have been very interesting to hear, and I got the impression it wasn't going to be the Fire Makes Steel demos collection, as there were a bunch of songs played live that never made that "album".[/quote]
All great points....
So I guess It has come to this....
Fantasy time.....
I ask this question then....who would have been YOUR CHOICE for a great singer for Survivor that could do BOTH era's material IF Robin (I love Robin) had said no and Jamo moved on already???? And NO you can't pick Dave...he is Real men of Geniusing at the moment...
Be realistic...but give it some thought...
