Yeah kind of like Gallagher's brother touring as the comedian Gallagher. I have no problem with JJ touring as former Survivor vocalist but I have a problem when things get blurred. Listen I drove 8 hours in 2008 to see Survivor. Survivor was on my ticket stub! There was a pic of frankie, marc, etc. I show up and it's JJ with a band that seemed thrown together. JJ was fine. The band was not. I take issue with this. Sorry.

#1, he IS touring as former Survivor vocalist. It says "Survivor's Jimi Jamison" not "Survivor."

You do also realize that it was confirmed that that show you went to expecting to see Survivor and got Jimi was because Survivor pulled OUT of the gig and they got Jimi to replace them, right?

Had it not been for Jamison, there would've BEEN no show, yet "Survivor" gets the pass and you mock Jamison for covering their slithery asses on the spur of the moment.

freaking gross, dude.

Let's say you are right. That's what happened. I wish there would not have been in show.

What's the excuse for McSurvivor pulling the plug with no notice to you, the ticket-buyer?

Dude, are you absolutely POSITIVE you are not in the band?

You say things like the above that make absolutely NO sense to anyone except someone who could be in Survivor at the moment.

Red I'm not in the band. I have no musical ability at all. I can't sing. I can't play an instrument. I can't read music. I'm not mechanically inclined to be a roadie. You get the idea. I just know good music when I hear it. I used to be a dj in the mid 80's before I got a real job. By the way have you heard anything off of Robin's Business As Usual? Just curious. In regards to the show I went to, it was awful. I have no doubt JJ did the best he could on short notice but it was clear that it wasn't organized. I would rather have gotten my 80 bucks back.

Why do you give Survivor a pass for pulling the plug?

There were posts here from informed sources that McSurvivor agreed to a fee, then regretted that it wasn't more so either asked for more or just pulled out altogether, and you have the balls to blast JJ for filling in for them and covering their ASSES.

I guarantee most of the crowd would've had the exact opposite reaction that YOU did, had McSurvivor shown up:

"Huh? I thought we were seeing Survivor, did they cancel?"

Instead Jimi Jamison showed up with what they were familiar with and they all thought it was Survivor.

Most of the crowd was drunk. And no clearly it wasn't Survivor. Especially when Jamo says POOR MAN's SON, oh wait, we don't do that one! LOL. It was a riot. So was the lead guitarist who sounded nothing like Frankie. We also got a karaokee version of I'm always Here complete with what sounded like a drum machine! I don't care. It was a long time ago. I saw Robin and the guys last August and they kicked ass.

It's public here in Illinois...

I just feel bad that all this energy is being wasted on this stuff....Jamo is going to play a few dates oversees with a backing band...it's almost kareoke....go ahead....have a ball...if people pay to see it, good for them.....if not, ok too....JJ is doing what he feels he needs to do I guess....Frankie is STILL Survivor, in name and in a physical band...they still have drawing power anywhere in the world.....the only negative is this....when people in the UK see a banner lets say a year from now they will have to ask themselves, is it Survivor (Sullivan, Droubay, Robin, Grove, Ozello) or Jimi Jamison and a backing band.....

That is my problem with this....it's a dillution of the brand......and the band...

JV

What Jamison's doing is karaoke?
Did Sullivan's current McSurvivor linep start playing all originals with only current bandmembers?
A case could be made that Frankie's dilluting the "brand" as much as JJ or JP.

You actually think people in the UK will sitting there fretting that unless the current lineup they may not be seeing Survivor?

Kareoke is a bit harsh....I am not familiar with Dante Fox....they may smoke.....I apologize for that remark.....

JV

Joe......Perry is known by his name alone just like Journey is...comparing Survivor to Journey and Jamison to Perry is unfair. Survivor NEVER to this day has had the recognition that Journey still receives to this day.
It's almost like comparing You and Mecca to Bobby Kimble and Toto.....most people ask are going to say who the fuck is Mecca and Joe Vana.
To my knowledge the order allowed Jimi to bill himself as I stated, now maybe something has changed in the last few years. Why don't you post us a link to that "public record" so we can all see it. It would be very helpful to us all, then either myself or slander will know if we are wrong.

BTW...What would posess you to go get yourself a copy of that order?

Point Taken Axecrew....I agree to a point....

How I got the order is of little importance...it exists, it's real....and it states what I said earlier....

No matter....JJ should be JJ, survivor should be survivor, and JP should be JP.....

And I ask this....who is Mecca and Joe Vana anyway......hahahahahah

JV

But Joe.....You said the order is "public record".....what's the harm in providing a link for all of us novice to follow and look at it?
BTW was at the restraunt a couple of weeks ago......good food.

Well, shit Survivor IS worth $40 a pop.
I'd do that (it was less when I caught them in AC in '00) in 2 seconds, JUST BOOK MORE SHOWS, SHOW UP AND PLAY!!!!

With Survivor's pedigree and name-drop value there's no reason this band shouldn't do a Foreigner (now)-sized tour every summer.

Thanks Joe......How did you get into the restaurant industry? And is it in the cards to maybe expand your current location? Not sure about the rules since you are in that strip mall type area.

My take on the poster: Sneaky way of promoting but completely legit. Jimi Jamison was SURVIVOR'S vocalist as stated. And Survivor was resposible for songs in two Rocky films. That is what the poster says to me.

Wow. I have no problem with JJ promoting his appearance with Burning Heart. It went to number 2! Why ride Bickler's coat tails?

He's not. He is riding SURVIVOR'S coattails...Survivor was responsible for a song on each soundtrack...

When did Bickler perform live and sing Eye with his own band? Not saying he didn't with Jamestown Massacre (I heard of an acoustic version with JM) though (and a great one at that!).

I think there is an interview with JJ (with his band) on youtube. Someone asked him about Eye and how it came about.
