What are your opinions on Radiohead? Some say they're the greatest band of all time, others say they're overrated....

....I myself enjoy them in moderation. I have every album but Amnesiac and Hail to the Thief, but those are coming soon. I'm listening to Kid A on a solid pair of headphones right now and loving every minute of it.

They may not be everyone here's cup of tea but there's no denying that this group has a ton of credibility and keep doing different things with every release, they're never satisifed. Radiohead's highly influential, and have probably done more with less talent than any other band ever. Incredible!

Awesome to hear that Neal likes them, I always figured he was the kinda guy to get into this type of shit here and there.

Thom Yorke's pitchy falsetto works well for the music but half the time it's hard to hear just what he's saying, so listening to Radiohead with the (usually well-written, sometimes far too cryptic) lyrics at hand is recommended.

I just got Amnesiac today. I'll be checking it out at bedtime tonight with my favorite pair of earphones. Can't wait. I've never heard a single track off it.

I love listening experiences where you dive headfirst into wholly unfamiliar music!

I Really, REALLY like the new one "In Rainbows". Not so quirky. More straightforward and song based, but still with plenty of cool sounds and atmospherics. Probably the easiest one for the average person to get into since OK Computer.

I keep playing "Reckoner" over and over. Starts off with just drums with cymbal work and then some guitar. Love how the strings come in at the end for a few bars and then fade. Leaves you wanting more!

Saw Beck on Saturday Night Live a Long time ago. I was quite impressed. Never thought someone so geeky looking could be that good.

Gordon man, how can you say that! They are not for everyone but at least they don't sound like every other piece of record company supported drivel that exists. In order to like them you have to kind of like melancholy, moody music with lots of sounds and texture. They are a sonic treat on headphones! I guess to some of us, music is more than just notes. The sounds and textures really tickle the brain in a good way!

Not overly fond of them - i do like some of your stuff tho mate - i like Marillion (but mainly with Fish - who is a good friend of my brother (i come from the same small town as Fish - Dalkeith)
I like YES, Genesis, Supertramp, Mike Oldfield and The Enid - for my prog desires.
The rest is mainly Rock

"The Bends" remains the best album released by any band in the 90's.

"The Bends" is an amazing album, but it really doesn't come close to touching Dream Theater's "Images and Words" or almost anything by The Smashing Pumpkins. I'm also a big fan of Rush's "Counterparts", Van Halen's "Balance," Toto's "Mindfields" and "Kingdom of Desire"....

Then most of Radiohead's albums are somewhere after that

Ok computer and The bends are both masterworks IMHO. If you are new to Radiohead listed to the bends 1st. Pablo Honey is ok and has Creep on it.. Ok computer is a 90's dark side of the moon in my mind. Mind blowing record for sure.
