I remember that. It was the main memorial service the morning after the candlelight vigil on the drillfield. Those motherfuckers were out there with their signs and picketing. Never, EVER, EVER before in my life have I wanted to mame and inflict pain on people the way I did those individuals. I say this from the bottom of my heart, hell is not a suitable enough place for what they condone.

Horsepiss. Each and every generation of peoples is entirely convinced that their doings and lifetime will see about the end of "the world". There are good runs and bad ones too, look back into past times in history (not just American). There have been far worse situations. I'm not a huge fan of Dubya, but I don't hate him either. Dude is what he is, each presidency is different and not ONE single individual should shoulder the blame for the state of the world. Trying to pile all our problems off on one person is infantile. Just because everything happened on his "watch" doesn't mean the moments of prevention or allusion could've been the same time too. This incessant argument has been around since the dawn of politics and will continue to be so. You're not trying to argue any point that opponents of Ceasar Octavian, Justinian, Louis XVI, or William Churchill haven't already. Every leader fucks up, they're human after all. Just don't try to act like he's the first one who ever faltered.

I like this post. It's a little too much on the fence for me, however, it makes perfect sense.

Thank you. 8)

Perhaps you should write a letter to the guy who took off for the weekend to "clear some brush on his ranch" rather than read, yes actually read the fucking Terror press briefings. He has admitted he did not read them, neither did that idiot Condi.

Very sorry for your loss Tom, and I am still as pissed as anyone.

Not going there Deano...except to say that I TOTALLY disagree with you about your statements above. Pure and utter crap, sorry. 9/11 had been "brewing" for decades...that's the TRUTH. Wasn't W's fault, or Condi's.

But, I appreciate your kind words about my brother-in-law. He didn't deserve to die that way...or to leave a wife and 2 young kids without their husband / father.

Exactly...But perhaps it's Bush's fault anyway that radical Islamic terrorists blew up the subway under the WTC, bombed the U.S.S. Cole, and various other assaults BEFORE he ever thought about running for President.

Well for flying crap's sake, of course it had been brewing. They couldn't exactly have put it together overnight now could they? No one that I know of is saying it hadn't been brewing, all that's been said is that Bush should have been giving the Bin Laden problem the attention that Bill Clinton advised him to instead of being completely fixated on finding or creating a justification for invading Iraq.

Then when 9/11 happened he manipulated the intelligence information, the congress, Colin Powell, the UN, and the public with all his flag waving, mom, apple pie and John Wayne posturing and sound bites so he could use it as the excuse he needed. I saw it for exactly what it was as soon as he started twisting and spinning the public consciousness away from Bin Laden and toward Sadaam and it still absolutely amazes me that there are so many people who are still blinded by that bullshit. It wasn't even that bright or brilliant. He's such a damned buffoon that if I'd seen something like that in a movie I would have called it farce.

Edit to add:

I think I said this before once, but watching this travesty of Bush's unfold over the last 8 yrs and seeing how many people who I would normally think of as being intelligent and reasonable fall into it like lambs to slaughter has helped me understand how situations like Red China and now North Korea happen. I never would have thought it was possible in this country, but now I'm not so sure.

Bush is the severe infection that started in this country and spread world wide. Nobody told me what to believe Dave. Nobody had to. I lived every day of the past eight years, starting with his campaign, seeing it for myself.

Do you have any idea how condescending you sound to the people here who happen to disagree with you? You act like we are all "unthinking" "idiotic" morons who just blindly follow the pres anywhere he leads us.

Could it possibly be that we too have thought through this, lived it, heard it, interpreted it, and have concluded the opposite to be true from what you have stated?

Think on that...

Oh yeah, I would put EVERY PENNY I OWN on the fact that in a one-on-one conversation, President Bush would make you look like a complete "mental midget" and expose your ingnorance. He's no "dummy" like you and many many others try to portray him as. He may not be the smartest leader this country has ever had but, he is quite a bit more intelligent than you give him credit for.

Seriously, just about anybody on here (myself included) wouldn't last one week in Mr. Bush's world...we would "crumble" under the stress of that job.

The man deserves more credit than he gets. Irregardless (joking with that word) of whether or not he makes mistakes with diction!
