Hey, don't shoot the messengers.

I think he'd be lucky if he got back to singing 2 day weekends or just special appearances.

It's no different than weightlifters. If they go without a workout for a month or more, they'll notice visual as well as strength drops.
I can only assume that Steve Perry would still be good in a studio setting if given enough time, but not on a 4-5 night a week schedule like he used to be. He would really have to go through alot of conditioning to get even close to where he was when his vocal chords were in shape. On top of that, you'd have to subtract for age as well. I think he'd be lucky if he got back to singing 2 day weekends or just special appearances.
Just my opinion

And he's also been continually singing throughout his career as well. Perry has not

I don't know too much about what the treatment is for. As far as I know, Tyler's voice is still raspy, he's just able to sing without suddenly going off pitch or mute. Doubt that's enough for Perry from his POV.

They showed a video of the treatment. They put a tube with a laser down Tylers throat and lasered his vocal chords. It removed all of these varicose looking veins from the surface of the chords. They said he was able to sing like he hadn't in years.
Not sure. It wasn't invasive or anything. If it improves the health of the voice at all, many of them should do it.STORY_TELLER wrote:Rick wrote:STORY_TELLER wrote:Rick wrote:I wonder if the laser treatment that Steven Tyler got would help SP?

Yes, but did it improve the quality of his voice or his ability to sustain notes? Two different things entirely from Perry's perspective.
Liquid_Drummer wrote:About Steve Perry and his rumored vocal condition ? Just curious. I was listening to TBF using a vocal plug in in winamp that really boosts the vocals and even removes the reverb. Listening to it like this you can really hear that there is something wrong in there but despite this I still like his voice. It is easy to tell at that point there is no way in hell he could sing the old stuff and this was 12 years ago now. Just age ?
