I'd read something about a $5/person shuttle from the airport, but maybe prices have gone up since then... :P

I, too, used a map of the strip to help pin something down. Here was the one I referenced:

I could have spent a little more time comparing, but just wanted to go ahead and get it done after all those P.H. rejections. Just happy to find a place close by, instead of picking a roach motel too far away... haha!

Here are some deals from Expedia.com. Make sure to click on "Sort by Price" at the top of the listings in order to see the lowest price rooms come up first:

I'll have you know that real men don't drink tea, so it's not my thing  As for the whole tax thing (and I know yours was a historical reference)...don't get me started on the OBSCENE taxes in the south! I can tell you that anyone who has ever referred to Massachusetts as "Taxachusetts" hasn't travelled much, because most states have FAR higher taxes! My home state charges a 5% sales tax (and only on what are considered to be non-essential items...i.e. no food). Your state charges 6.75%-7.25% on EVERYTHING! Oh, seriously? Hey, Lula, that's a very nice offer! We'll surely take it, but if your plans change, no worries. Let's keep in touch, and if it's still convenient for ya, I'll make sure you have our itinerary. Would be great to chat with someone we know on the way to the hotel. :)

I normally go to 1 of these 3 when on budget

Postby ttango1 » Mon Jan 28, 2008 11:58 am

1-South Point-It's further out so you'll need a car but the hotel is really nice
2-Bill's(Formerly Barbary Coast) Drai's afterdark lounge holds the after 1AM party complete with off-duty stripper chicks
3-Imperial Palace-It ain't no palace but it's clean and it's central enough

When I splurge I go to:
1-The Signature at MGM-It's so so choice( Here is my tip to you if you want to stay here-Rent it from an owner, look at Vacation Rental sites and pop in Signature MGM, you might find a price that makes it close to budget.)
2-Bellagio-What's not to like about the fountains?

But for this trip, I'm staying here:

Pineda -"I'm just here to celebrate the legacy of Journey."

Hell, I'll take that 6-7% any day of the week. Mine is 8.25% and looks like it'll be going up sometime in the near future. BUT... we don't get taxed double on our income, so I guess it evens out a bit.

FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!

Hotels.com hooked me up large (or largely as Moonie would say  ). Gave me the 2 flights I wanted (out of Chicago at 8 am on Thursday and out of Vegas at 3:30 pm on Sunday) AND 3 nights at Planet Hollywood for under $600!!! I recommend the site and its deals. I'm "amped" as Neal would say.

Unfortunately for me, it's O'Hare. However, the a.m. flight time I have is perfect as it's a bit before traffic.
