It was so much simpler in the days before the internet. I liked it better when I didn't know what assholes ALL of these guys could be at one time or another. Which is why I've reverted back to it just being about the music. I think both of you guys have valid points.

However you get to this show, DO NOT enlist the services of my buddy Evan to fly you there. Here's the story:

He calls me up on a drunken whim early this past Sunday morning (like 12:30 am early) and tells me he's coming over to get me to go "out on the town". After giving him several "no fuckin' way!" responses, I do the responsible thing and get in his car. He drives off and next thing I know we're pulling into a g-damn airport and are preparing to board a friend's propeller plane. The plan is to fly across the state to Buffalo and surprise some old friends. So now I start thinking...We'll be flying over the Adirondack Mountains at night, cool!, but didn't Lynryd Skynyrd, Buddy Holly & others end their lives in this manner?...If we crash, I will not hesitate to eat my friends for food. I have no sauce to drench their mantits in though. Hopefully people don't stop looking for me. I'm a survivor. If I must, I will kill a blackbear with headphone wire and a broken CD shiv. I could have been cozy in bed. damn it.

Cell phone rings...it's the wife!...she tells me if I go on this trip, she'll be moved out when I get home. she is ROYALLY pissed. fuck me...end of trip.

One night of fun isn't worth the tens of thousands it would cost in a divorce settlement. This could have been a bad trip, but 10 years ago I wouldn't have cared and went anyways. The voice of reason prevailed. I do love my wife, so I have to let her have her way once in a while.
Thanks for being here in my share time.

Yeah, we were all off the train during TG. Rerailed it, hit a tree, not pretty. So now it's going again.

And for you to be truly done with Journey, yet still be a passenger on the Van Halen bus, is mistifying to me.

Hey, I'm excited to see VH with the singer who made them great. Call me a Roth Loon.

And I'm not looking to change your mind about anything. I am glad to see you having fun again after all you have been through. Just wish we could all be hanging in Vegas to see Journey with Soto or Jeremey. Or even Perry or Augeri!

Dude...
I'm lucky she's still with me. Period. While I'm an extremely independent person, she can be the voice of reason and keep me in check. An Ozzy and Sharon kind of thing...lots of miles, although not yet fried.

I'll be seeing them this week -- friend is dragging me into it. Yes, I'm a V.H. fan, but walked out of a 5150 tour show because it was so loud and distorted you couldn't make out which song they were playing. This time, if Eddie's hitting the bottle again and totally sucking hard like people have been reporting, I'll probably do the same. No, maybe I'll just stay and take notes to report in full later, but I guarantee if that happens, it will be the last V.H. show I ever attend.

I don't mean to sound too negative... I love V.H. and am glad they are back with Roth. I hope they kick A!!! Really enjoyed seeing Roth solo at a free concert last year, and he was awesome! But $50 is $50, and I have little respect for people who can't pull it together long enough to give their fans their money's worth.

I haven't read any recent reviews but the shows early on got great reviews overall as did Eddie's playing in general.

That's exactly why I've decided not to go. Going to spend a week in Orlando instead and hit Disney, Universal, and Kennedy Space Center. Something about a Queensryche show too. :D

I saw them in November in Montreal and they put on a great show. Like others in that thread have said, Eddie's playing isn't on par with his early years in VH. The show was also loud & distorted...DLR even fudged the words to "I'll Wait", yet I was still entertained the entire time. The wonders of Canadian beer.

I did... I don't have the best ears for this stuff, but it sounded as if the guitar part was still playing while he had his hands off and was pitching a fit. Was is edited or something?

With all due respect Dean, I dont think you can take credit for getting Neal & Jon to attend, since a)They were already planning on being there and b) Theyre no power couple no more! Nice try though, buddy ;)
