Double-history-making. :D
I think there's a chance of that if she gets the nom, but I don't think Obama will pull her onto the ticket if he got it.
Tuesday is going to be interesting.

Not quite Dave.

It differs from my avatar because my avatar(however representative of reality) was not posted as a response or comment in a thread.

(As if anyone who would desecrate the Beatles in an avatar has any room to complain. :P)

I like several Beatles songs but they desecrated themselves with their drug abuse and arrogance. Besides that, I thought the avatar was hilarious. Kudos to Rip Rokken on that one.

Hey, I could SWEAR I heard an advertisement for some comedy or talk show this past week where they said they were going to actually make the President say "nuclear" the correct way. It got my attention, but I didn't catch which show it was. Did anyone see it?

Government imposed bake sales. Same shame tactics they use on hapless toddlers and elementary school kids with candy sales. Don't you know if you don't sell five hundred boxes of candy for a 50 cent walkman you're a BADDDD citizen.

B.J. Girl... You ain't into Don Lennon?!? :P I love ya, but let me help you out on this one... If something ever, ever seems wrong about one of Rip Rokken's avatars, the fault is not with the avatar, but with the viewer's perspective.

CPC, I completely agree.. Drugs and arrogance have no place in rock and roll, and it was just disgraceful all the way around. And that long, greasy hair, too... But... I wonder if Paul McCartney ever tried to choke John Lennon?

NOW THAT is funny!

Seriously...I know Sherrie and Dean will say TAXES...don't they realize that taxing people and companies NEVER works? It causes job loss, stagnation in pay, etc etc...

I appreciate where you were going with it, but with Don's surly expression pressed up against the across-the-browline cut of John's hair, I'm reminded of Frankenstein. Now, if you want to paste that sourpuss under Neal's fro, that would be worth it.

Um, duh, stopping the war would be a good down payment. Then they could stop the corporate welfare and tax cuts to corporations that move operations out of this country. The next huge step would be stopping welfare and other social services to ALL the people who are in this country illegally. Then put an absolute ban on pork barrelling. Any financing or spending proposal that doesn't warrant it's own bill doesn't merit consideration. Of course the Congress would have to freeze their own wages and forego their own health care plan until every American citizen has a living wage job and health care benefits available to them.

There are ways Stuart.

Holy shit...I agree with you on something...I think the pork barrelling is the most nauseating thing Congress does. It should be illegal. And don't get me started on the perks of being elected to congress...the should be ashamed. A congressmen or senator should have thier salaries capped at the average wage in the country. The better they do with helping people out, the higher their wage...the worse off the lower...it would give them incentive to do SOMETHING that didn't involve taxing us all to death.

Yep - I posted that picture in another thread. It was the Don Dokken bowl-cut era.

Thankfully it was short-lived!!

Man, with that, I could swear I was reading my own words... some of my exact same sentiments. I'd also love to impose a rule that any tax hike they pass goes double for them -- would give them a little more pause for thought before they jacked us again. There should be no financial incentives whatsoever to run for elected office.

My dad lives in Memphis, TN, and was telling me about how a very well respected (but retired) state politician was approached about running for local office again. His response was something along the lines of, "Things have changed too much since my day. I'd already made my fortune and just wanted to to give something back by serving. These days, people run for office so they can make their fortune."

It doesn't take away the idea that we really are responsible for our lives. When we depend on others, like our government for our creature comforts, we're at their mercy and that's not a healthy place to be.

Don't usually take part (lol or even read these political threads). But just had to say.........good on ya scarygirl!
