dont they know who they are, a set list will never please everyone.
the only song i have to hear is AWYWI, and maybe stone in love, and from there they could play about anyother 12 songs.
but i would like to hear atleast one song from every 77+ album hell leave off ROR.
what does everyone else feel abut the DD

These guys can go on and record 10 more CD's with Arnel, and it will NEVER change the fact that the name Journey will FOREVER be identified with the soaring vocals of Steve Perry and that era of songs that made this band relevant! The reality is that even if Steve Perry was still their lead singer, most fans are still going to want to hear the signature songs. Even though an artist like Madonna always plays new material (almost exclusively)at her concerts, most of her fans complain that she doesn't play enough of her classic material. Most fans want to hear music that takes them back to a certain time in their lives, and escape reality, for the 2 hours or so that a concert gives them.

My setlist is loaded with Greatest Hits and Dirty Dozen stuff, plus there's plenty of minor chart hits and fan favorites. I also slipped in four or five songs for the diehards that would work brilliantly in leading up to a rocked-out Wheel in the Sky climax! I think they should take an approach like I did and alternate a ton of different combos for the setlist and keep things fresh for everyone.

I guess Arnel would be more than capable of doing justice to any song from the catalog,so I don't see why not go for a fresh setlist.
ProgRocker53 wrote:I don't mind hearing the Dirty Dozen live if they're re-done a bit and added to. Good examples of this are the rocked-out, extended "Wheel in the Sky" and the freeform blues jam before/after "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'."
I could do without Open Arms for sure... hate it.
That's a great setlist. I agree, I put together a CD for my car that contains, in order, songs from Infinity all the way to Trial by Fire. It really is good. And if they changed them up once in a while during the tour, that would be awesome. Don't know how well Feeling That way/Anytime would go over without Rollie on vox. I don't think I've ever heard it live without Perry/Rollie combo.ProgRocker53 wrote:A good setlist idea for the upcoming tour, assuming there's 20 songs: (Two titles written "Song Title - Song Title" mean they're interchangable to keep a fresh setlist, while "Song Title/Song Title" represent traditional song combos.)

Probably my favorite TBF tune. You have excellent taste, grasshopper. I though that song demonstrated that one doesn't need to hit operatic notes to to make fantastic music. Great song.
