DON DOKKEN: New Solo Album Available For Paid Download - Feb. 9, 2008

The new Don Dokken solo album, "Solitary", which has thus far been available only to fans attending the singer's acoustic tour as the opening act for QUEENSRŸCHE, can now be purchased as a digital download at the official Don Dokken MP3 store. Fans can download the entire album, or buy individual tracks, by going to this location.

01. In The Meadow
02. I'll Never Forget
03. Where The Grass Is Green
04. Ship Of Fools
05. You Are Everything
06. Venice
07. Sarah
08. The Tragedy
09. Someday

Don Dokken's acoustic tour with QUEENSRŸCHE runs through March 1, at which point Don will reconvene with the band DOKKEN to release the group's new album, "Lightning Strikes Again", and commence a world tour in support of the CD.

Frontiers Records has set an April 11 European release date for the new DOKKEN album, "Lightning Strikes Again". The CD will be issued in North America via Rhino Records.

Audio samples of two more tracks from "Lightning Strikes Again" are available on the band's revamped web site. The songs "This Love Is Dyin'" and "It Means" were recently mixed and mastered by Wyn Davis and are available in Windows Media format on the band's "Music" page at www.dokken.net.

The follow-up to 2004's "Hell to Pay", "Lightning Strikes Again" features the lineup of Don Dokken (vocals), Jon Levin (guitar, ex-WARLOCK), Barry Sparks (bass, TED NUGENT, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, MSG) and Mick Brown (drums).

Jesus Christ, who named these gay tunes, Barney the gay Dinosaur? Fuckin Bert and Ernie?

In the Meadow? Sarah? Where the Grass is Green?

I bet Venice is a rocker though:twisted:

Andrew, if you can say BA's new CD is soft due to song title, what the Hell can you say about this shit?

Probably the same guy who named Def Lep's next album The Sparkle Lounge.

Having not heard the songs yet one might speculate that far from being soft the titles refer to the following -

In the Meadow is obviously an ode to outdoor (or backdoor) sex!

Sarah...Probably the meadow chick!

Where the Grass is Green has to be about the ole' wacky tobaccy!

Dokken rolls like that!

Just sayin'

I bet you would rename all of these songs wouldnt you !?:) It'd look something like this

01. In The Meadow - In the Ghetto

02. I'll Never Forget - Dont Give A Crap If I remember

03. Where The Grass Is Green - Your Ass is grass

04. Ship Of Fools - Melodic Rock

05. You Are Everything - You Think Youre all that(but youre not)

06. Venice - Vegas

07. Sarah - I plowed her

08. The Tragedy - Journey

09. Someday - Never

I actually have a bounty out on this disc for anyone who will get me a signed copy from a show. Still waiting to hear back from someone who attended the NY gig a few nights ago, and someone else is going to the Dallas show. It's a little more than just getting me a signed CD, and the price goes up depending on what you can do -- kinda like a scavenger hunt checklist. :P If anyone's interested, PM me.

If I were cruel, I'd say that Don probably slept with someone's mother and found the inspiration for that title in her panties, but I'm not that cruel... :P

I went to the show last night in Atlantic City. Didn't buy the cd though. I didn't even make it to the merch stand. Setlist is as follows: Into the Fire
Breaking the Chains
Just Got Lucky
It's Not Love
Alone Again
In My Dreams
Don's voice sounded pretty rough. Very short set. Alot of talking in between songs.

Queensryche setlist: Don't really remember (the beer was flowing heavy) They did play The Killing Words and Take Hold of the Flame which kicked ass. Too many cover songs though. Welcome to the Machine seemed like it would never end

No arguemnt Dean, this is soft-sappy shit without question. But dude...the verdict is in on the new Bryan Adams. The guy is a limp dick also and all the hype of a rocking album is pure bullshit.

Time for Bry to hang it up - hear for yourself -

Hey Rip - What is Don offering up this time around? Some fossils? I always thought it was kind of funny how in the 04/05 photo shoots he was holding his hand out all the time. There must be a story behind it. Or maybe it just makes him look cool!

Don is bringing his show to a venue about 300 miles away from me. (with Queensryche). I would love to go but there's the whole thing about me being 17 that I have to deal with.

Good luck in your quest for a signed copy! I'm sure you will get one eventually.

I hope Dokken launches a massive summer tour!

2 things: First, telling Rip that a new Dokken album is available for download is like telling a junkie what time the crack house opens. Second, Andrew, expect an ass-beating of epic proportions from Dean for your less than kind description of BA's latest effort. And suggesting that he "hang it up" wasn't very smart. I can hear Dean swearing as he pouts to the liquor store all the way from Chicago. You're fucked, Drew. :P

I too, was disappointed with the first track. It never took off and he sounded too out in front. Besides, I like his Run To You, One Night Love Affair, Cuts Like A Knife anthemic style much more. The new shit sounds more like it should be on a Sheryl Crow CD. Doesn't mean it isn't good. Just means that it doesn't "rock."
