Just posted a song from my overseas recording project!!!

Postby G.I.Jim » Tue Feb 12, 2008 2:42 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm finally able to give you a small (very early) sneak peak at one of the songs I wrote for an overseas recording project! I can't really get into the details of the project yet, but just wanted you to hear a small snippet of what's to come. The album's going to kick ASS, and so far, this is the ONLY ballad! I wrote this song a few years back, and just had to share what I could...I hope you like it, and you'll definitely be hearing more really soon!!!

Go to www.myspace.com/jimrykbost and click on "I'm Not Ready".

I'm currently working on 4 projects, so stay tuned...I think 2008 is going to be a very busy year for me! I hope you like it. Take care,

Jim

Thanks man,

I really appreciate it, and I hope there are no hard feelings concerning our last conversation...I also hope you're feeling better! I hate that you've been feeling under the weather, and I wish you a speedy recovery!

Jim, I can be a major league asshole sometimes...well, quite often.

I think I was taking out my frustration on this board...not at anyone, but just at ideas. It was a tough few days.

Thank you for the sacrifices you have made and putting your life on the line so people like me can rant and rave on message boards...I don't take these freedoms lightly. Without men and women like you, we'd all be speaking German right now and eating Schnitzel. Regardless on whether or not we agree on the predications of this war, we are still and always eternally in debt to the people in uniform.

Thank you Dan,

You really don't need to thank me though! I appreciate the thought, but I chose to enlist. It's the best thing I've ever done with my life, but nobody in here owes me a thank you. I've been in recruiting for almost 7 years now, and was in recruiting before 9/11. I've been recruiting longer than anybody around here. I'm in a non-deployable status since I'm in recruiting...I couldn't deploy if I wanted to! I actually tried to go to New Orleans after the hurricane, but was told if I left that I wouldn't have a job left when I came back!

I've enlisted several people in the Army National Guard over the years that have deployed though, and it weighs heavy on my mind! I've ALWAYS been an honest person (sometimes to a fault), and have always been honest with people about their chances of deployment. Sometimes I feel like I should be back in the Infantry over there kicking ass and taking names, but then I realize...my mission's here.

Well, I feel better now that I've got THAT off of my chest! This place is going to be my new therapy program!

Again, thanks Dan!

Thanks Laura,

Unfortunately, all of that music is gone forever! I've just had to start over from scratch. It's alright though, and I'm making progress!

Nice work from you as always, Jim.

Not crazy about the singer, but that's not a reflection on your work. The melodies and writing sound great, just wish you had a more talented vocalist working with you.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it! I wish I could show you some of the other songs (I know you're going to like them) as they kick ass over anything I've done so far! I don't even know what to compare it to...Sometimes I hear a little Whitesnake, other times maybe some Bad English...It's harder edged than my normal tunes, yet completely melodic! Big hooks, choruses and guitars.

Hopefully you'll be hearing some more of it soon, and I'll also be sharing songs from some of my other projects. I'm currently working on 5 projects in total right now!!! Man, this stuff's keeping me busy! Thanks so much for the compliments!

Nice production sound.
As someone else said, the vocalist isn't doing it justice.

Nice job though, very nice. 8)

Nice song, although the clip is too short to really tell. BUT, the singer ruins it for me. This song requires a singer like Danny Vaughn or Lars Safsund. Are these real drums? They sound programmed. If they're programmed replacing them by real drums will really enhance this recording.

Cheers,

MR

Hey!

I appreciate it! Yeah, I would absolutely LOVE Lars to sing on it! I think once you hear the finished product, it'll sound a whole lot better. The vocals were just thrown on at the last second for me to check out. That's part of the problem of having people get a "Sneak" peak at songs too early! I want others to hear what I'm excited about, but that's because I know what the finished songs will sound like.

I'll DEFINITELY let you check out the finished song when we get it wrapped up. Also, we have an awesome drummer in the project, but can't use him until we make it to the studio. We did program the drums for now.

Just know that it'll be 100 times better than what you just listened to!!!
