Steve is the most important musician in my life. His voice and that music is a big part of who I am. This is a bitch slap in the face and I will not support this with VEHEMENCE.

Not half as big of a bitch slap as 10 years of unconditional loyalty in the form of waiting for Perry to return, nixing your current lineup with Chalfant and Rolie, only to have Perry record and back out on a tour he never planned on doing (per Herbie Herbert...who was smart enough to NOT sign any orders that suppress the truth). OK...we have basically come to the collective conclusion that Journey should NOT use the rerecords for anything other than promotional purposes. I did some thinking (I know...that's a first) and if Journey does indeed use the GH for anything other than promotional material, like part of a package, I'd like to see it titled something along the lines of "Journey's Greatest Hits 2008 Revisiting the Perry Era." Would that lessen the trauma that this may potentially put some of you through?

And IMO, I think we would have got that with JSS, Arnel's and Augeri's voices sound too much like Perry's. I remember JSS pushing for more of the "different" classics. JSS re-recording them would kinda be like Sammy re-recording some of the VH classics. A different take on them.

I would only buy it simply because of personal ties with Arnel. He along with all the original members of AMO have a very special place in my life because of my involvement with them during my youth. Other then that, I wouldn't buy an album with just re recorded hits by any band. I got what I need from the first release. Now if there was material that was only available recorded live and then some time later they came out with a studio version, that would get me interested enough to purchase the re recorded hits.
