BINGO!!! I think Arnel is great, but I'd take a Steve Perry led Journey tuned down 34 steps if that's what it took. Unfortunately, it seems that Perry was more interested in writing, recording and touring with half-ass musicians and playing tiny theatres on the "Flopsome Tour" than with the team that made that "magic." Disappointing to say the least. Moreover, when the shock of this blatant betrayal set in, and Neal and Jon realized it was time to move Journey forward with a new lineup (Rolie and Chalfant), Perry pulled the ultimate "stone" crusher and recorded am album with no intention of touring, setting them back another few years. It's no wonder he can't face Neal and Jon. I wouldn't be able to either.

Most certainly. Anyone who is a Journey fan would take Perry over ANYONE, if he came back. I mean, c'mon this band has been around for 30 years!. You can only keep getting new and younger lead vocalists for so long to recapture that sound. There is no doubt, a Perry led Journey would be the best - no matter how he sings it, it doesn't matter. Perry on his worst day, still sounds better than anyone else! because it is Steve Perry.

Correct. People want that "trip" down memory lane and Perry could provide that at even 50%. Roth, Sting, Emmett, Plant, Henley and Frey have done it. Fuck, I'd go see Journey in Baghdad if they played there.![]()

Imagine the payola for a Perry lead Journey re-union.
My personal view is that if it couldn't be arranged/sold/put together now (as in after JSS was dropped), then it will never be arranged

Make some tempo/pitch changes and fans would be putty in his hands. It is possible - but does he have the desire/drive/confidence to do this?
As of right now - it seems not.

Jeremey wrote:Steve Perry could change the songs and the melodies to suit his current voice, and if the tour was 20 shows instead of 80 shows, he'd be just fine. Steve's problem with touring isn't that he's lazy - I just think there's so many bad memories of what the road took out of his life, that there's a real fear of getting back on that merry go round. I think there's a perfection aspect to it and a fear aspect to it.
