OT- Rip Rokken is my valentine!

Postby ProgRocker53 » Tue Feb 19, 2008 4:18 am

Hahahah thanks man, that CD made my day.

Ol' Rip sent me Dokken's Greatest Hits by mail.. the best part though, is that he wrote an S on the front... so it reads as

"DOKKEN- Greatest Shits"

Lovely.. haha... time to rock out. 8)

Thanks again Rip! I'll return the favor somehow someday, haha.

Hey, man! You are more than welcome, and glad you got a kick out of the retitled disc... haha! I just got back from Dallas yesterday where I found a 2-disc greatest hits package, and wish I'd sent that one instead, but hopefully there should still be plenty for you to rokk out on for a while!

This couldn't come at a worse time... I'd decided to go on self-imposed exile from MR for 3 days to get my feet back on the ground after laughing myself dang near into the nuthouse the past few days. I'd look just like the Joker sitting in a cell in Arkham Asylum in a straight-jacket, laughing maniacally... lol! Now I find that Andrew has Dokken as front page news on his site, so I simply cannot bow out now... I must take one more for the team. I'm about to go into full-scale Dokken Street Team mode, Rip Rokken style! I have several places to indokktrinate, so I'll try to keep it light here.

By the way, I forgot to post in your other thread and encourage you on your bass playing. I didn't realize you'd only been playing for 8 months, so great work, man! Keep it up! Too bad you, myself, G.I. Jim and Liquid Drummer don't live closer together, or else we'd have a full band and could teach all the rock-deprived masses how it's done.

DOKK ON!!!

Rip, there is no way Dokken have enough hits for a two disc greatest hits package surely!??!

Like the new avatar but surely it should read Dok Perignon?

No, it is actually Don Perignon (changed from "Dom"). If you look even closer, you can see that I changed the alcohol content on the bottle as well.

Actually, I did misuse the term Greatest Hits -- here is what I was talking about:

30 songs...

The verdict is in:

Dokken Rokks. Image

I'm already preaching my own Dokken Gospel... I played a few tracks cruising with a buddy last night, and he's impressed.

It's spreading....

Thanks! I was born with little to no natural musical talent, so what little bit I've had, I've had to work my tail off for.

What's interesting is, that neither of the two bands I've been a part of, have played the type of music I'm really into. I've been in a blues-rock/punk-rock band and now a jam rock band. No true prog or soaring melodic rock, unfortunately, but at least I'm getting used to different styles.

And while a MR supergroup of me, you, Jim, and LD would be amazing... I'm not so sure I could hang with you guys! I'd give it a go though ;)
