OT: Favorite Triumph album?

Postby conversationpc » Fri Feb 22, 2008 6:42 am

I've really been digging "Thunder Seven" over the last few days. There's really not a bad song here. The only other album I have of theirs is "Never Surrender", so I'm not sure how they measure up. Anybody else have a favorite?

Don't own any Triumph. Dave you should really listen to April Wine instead. May I suggest starting with "Harder, Faster" :D Glad I could help you out here. :D

Buzz off and leave him alone. I'm in the process of converting him to an April Wine fan. I'm going into Tom Cruise mode now.

Thunder 7 is good, Just a Game is good, Sport of Kings is good, Allied Forces of course. Even Edge of Excess after Emmett left is good.

Of the whole bunch Just a Game is probably my favorite.

I realized on the way home who Rik Emmett's voice reminds me of, which is a combination of Geddy Lee and Jon Anderson.

I like SOK's - it's a bit poppier than some of their earlier efforts, but it still has some cool stuff.

I'm having my first Triumph experience this weekend.

Last night I listened to Allied Forces and thought it was solid. Rik Emmett is clearly the star of this band.

I've listened to Never Surrender this morning and I'm on Thunder Seven right now. I'm not really focused on my listening right now, so I can't give too deep of a critique or review, but this stuff is good for sure, right up my alley. Hard melodic rock with a few prog touches here and there.

Any Triumph is good stuff for me. Not a hardcore enough of a fan to pick single album.

I haven't liked any covers done of their stuff 'cept Hugo's Magic Power (and I still prefer the original).
