Yep, I've stated this before. Ole Arnie and his band The Zoo had a perpetual extra member on stage...the music stand.

I guess lyrics were a problem for him even then.

All that off of 1 performance?

yeah, I'll say that he got some words missed but then I recall going to quite a few concerts when the lead singer actually says, "I wrote this song and I forgot the words." Then he gets a little help and crowd participation and it's all good.

So I'll give the kid props for effort. He wailed as good as he could and for many of us, it's a work in progress and we're cool with that.

Didn't you say that he lacked personality? Then you are 1 for 2.

He kicked that music stand to the curb and gave the Chileans all the personality they craved. THEY LOVED IT!!! That's not an opinion. Ask the blogger who wrote about it. IT'S IN BLACK AND WHITE.

Perry forgot lyrics a few times, too. Most notably at the Bill Graham Tribute show, where he had to sing.....TWO songs!!! It happens. As for Arnel having a song book onstage in the Phillipines, The Zoo covered OVER 400 songs. I'd need a book, too!!! Jesus, the guy was removed form his continent, recorded a new album, re-recorded the old hits, took diction lessons and people are miffed by missed lyrics at his first show? Give the dude a break, man. Go youtube Perry bumbling Faithfully at the Bill Graham tribute. :P

I saw the performance...I don't need a chilean blogger or an idiot san diego twat to tell me what I saw.

He missed the words, pronunciation was off...it's "open arms" NOT " owen arms"...and he fucked up words.
Given the ever present music stand on stages in barely filled hard rock cafes all over SE asia whenever The Zoo performs....it's quite clear that it's more than just a small case of forgetting a verse once in a while.

And Personality? ...not there either. Sorry....when this bullshit flops onto US shores, it's going to be received for exactly what it is. A fraud...nothing more, nothing less.

I'm batting 1000% here, twat, er tango, or whatever. This guy is *not* Journey....he doesn't convey journey, he doesn't emote journey. He's merely a guy with perry's tambre (only under certain specific situations).

Thanks, Tree. I get what you're saying. Most do, except for those looking to bitch about everything possible. Personally, I find it sort of funny when this happens. Just shows that they're human. Last time I checked, Journey hired Arnel Pineda, not Superman. Superman ran the band into the ground from 1986-1998 and hung up his cape in between that in 1994.

It's a broken record really, St.John. Whoever is standing up there, will NOT be good enough for people, unless your last name ends in a 'Y'. Honestly, I don't know what people want from Arnel. The guy has a strong voice, and from what I've seen, sung with soul (as most people here put it  ) I can just see someone sitting there at the computer desk, with a closed mind, listening to the songs and WAITING for something to come forth of their disapprovals of a song, whether it's something simple like "he didn't carry out the "lyyyyy" in Faithfully, or he "didn't jump around during this song.." It's a lose lose really.

But hey, so be it. This has been going on since 1998, so why stop now? All I know is I like the new Journey, and I'll buy the new CD, and also listen to Escape, and Arrival in the meantime. Journey on.

Apparently what you need is a reality translator. Hey, some of you claimed that he was going to die on that stage the moment he touched it and guess the fuck what? He didn't. I will admit that he still needs work but fuck....some of the more dense peeps don't want to give the diamond in the rough half-a-chance. Yeah that's totally unexpected

Continue berating his performance from the comfort of your keyboard. There are LOTS MORE PEOPLE out there who will give this kid and the band a chance to continue. Apparently your opinion didn't mesh with 15000 Chileans. Those trophies that they give on the stage, they don't do that for you if you weren't liked. But you disregard that right? All that off of 1 performance...how about your extremely BIASED and it continues to show that you can't get past it?

Notice that you continue the use of the DIGS, since can't debate me civilly, you just continue to masturbate your word play.
I note that when I referenced your post, I got past the infantile name-calling but you continue on.

I don't have to point out that you're obsessive-compulsive with your rants, when Journey fans read it, they'll already know you're suffering from OCD. Typical day for OCDSG. Logon to PC, get on MR...then, Must berate Journey today and continue saying that Arnel Pineda needs his music stand.

Do you ever get out and see the sun? I do and I must say, San Diego is beautifully SUNNY. I feel great about that 1st performance and like many of the people I've talked to here, there in the PI, and on other boards, Journey related or just OT-then made about Journey, there are a great many of us who can't wait to see them play live.

IMO he's an improvement over Augeri, but a step back to JSS because with JSS they could've and would've taken a step in the right direction creatively, now they're nothing more then a glorified tribute band of themselves.

I've been visiting alot of forums the past couple of days, this is the only forum where peeps think overwhelmingly, JSS is better for Journey than Arnel.

DIMEADOZEN has 38 seeds for this show, the quality is excellent. I think it can put to the rest the notion that Arnel doesn't have stage present, especially during the encores of AWYWI and LTS. What torrent site is everyone on? I'll try to seed it on the one most peolple are on. The video is crystal clear and should hopefully give a better perception of the show after those terrible Streamed clips ( which were still very appreciated ).

From watching the encore clips, it seems as though the front monitors aren't monitors at all. Looks like Journey is using a teleprompter. I can't imagine that they'd dedicate an onstage video screen to the play list. I wonder if they are actually scrolling lyrics. Anyone see a better angle on this?

44 hours to download!! Now I need help.

Postby inaweofschon » Mon Feb 25, 2008 11:56 am

I can play this file with Windows Media Player 11. I cannot however burn a DVD from it. I use Windows Movie Maker to try to publish it to DVD and it ends up locking up Windows DVD maker.

Does anyone have any ideas :?:

Clone DVD, Nero or Ashampoo are all good for burning Vob files.

If you don't have any of those you could try here for some free alternatives -

Thanks Flight.....

I have all the latest Media ware for Windows. I figured that since Media Player 11 will play the .vob file I could certainly burn it to dvd with Win DVD maker.

I'd rather punt than load some kind of freeware.

I have loaded the mininova trackers as the Dime leechers have dropped to two. Mininova have 82 leechers at this moment.
I can't believe the amount of downloads for this show. Journey is definately on the front burner again, even if only for a few days.
