Here's another thing I have an issue with...

WHAT DID THESE GUYS DO FOR 3 DECADES WITH THEIR MONEY???!!

Geez, you guys would have us believe that they are all broke, living out the back of a van and eating Spaghetti-O's for dinner!

Give me a BREAK! They all have enough money (or should have) to live on for the rest of their days...they don't need to "milk the cow" any longer.

Do something different...NEW, FRESH, CREATIVE!

There is absolutely, positively, NOTHING that Arnel and/or Journey could EVER do to tarnish the legacy of Steve Perry! Everyone else brought into this band is being brought in to sing the hits that were made famous by Perry's voice, and to replicate Perry as closely as they can! Jeff was the only guy who didn't try to replicate Perry, at all, and that earned him a one-way ticket back to his solo career!

As I've said in the past, I always thought Perry's legacy was VERY secure, but has become further cemented with each bumbling move Journey makes. I also think it's VERY clear to anyone, who pays attention, that Perry is the ONLY guy to have pulled off this catalog, over the long haul! Arnel and Journey could win a Grammy Award, and it still wouldn't have ANY impact on what Perry did, during his years as Journey's front man! Let's not forget that it is VERY unlikely that not a single one of us would have heard of the name "Journey", had Perry not been brought into the band. I would say that fact alone, means that his legacy is as secure as secure gets!

The only T shirts I have a pic of a dude on it is JSS and BA. MY JJ shirts, I went with the Lowe's Logo and the 48, no facials of JJ.

By the way, Tony looks like he stepped off the set of Deliverance. If he isn't cutting his hair until he wins, it's going to be as long as Perry's Departure look. I am shocked the Home Depot allows that. Lowe's has strict policy with Johnson on his looks.

Done it all? Really? I think this is the first time they EVER played S. America. They haven't done that before.

NEED? How do YOU know what they NEED?

Journey made Perry. Journey was around long before Perry. Journey (ie, Schon & co.) are playing Journey's music the way it should be played. They're 'copying' no one but themselves.

I'm not so sure it's have a chance to grow that long. Those JGR Toyotas are looking pretty good right now.
They won't ever run well at tracks like Cali or Vegas but wait til we get to the road courses and places like

I used to like Tony, but I hate his fat ass now. He along with the Busch bothers can kiss my ass. Gordon too. I hate the 24. And I really hate the 88 and all his redneck buttfucking sisters and brothers. I hate Pablo Montoyo too along with that POS Ragan. Fuck all those Fords too. Basically I hate em all except JJ.

A side question. Does any body know around about how much Valory would of made from his time in Journey? Obvisouly nowere near the amount as Perry/Schon/Cain, because of writing credits etc.

I'm guessing he had an equal share of the gigging profits, but a lesser share of album sales and writing credits.

He only really had writing credits in the pre-Cain era, and even then they were very occaisional.

I think SP is jealous as anything that AP is out there singing the songs he wishes he could still sing.

You "think?" You couldn't me more wrong. SP isn't jealous of anyone. He went out on top, and I respect that. SP can still sing dude. That isn't BS.

I think all this is tearing SP's heart out quite frankly.

Wrong again.

Now, I need to clear one other thing up. I HATE what the band is doing with AP! I think it is a clear attempt to reclaim commercial success by blatantly COPYING Steve Perry's vocal tone, style, and delivery. Anybody who says differently is flat out wrong, IMO. The band is cheapening their legendary status in the history books by continuing this "charade" they are still calling "Journey".

You may not like it, but guess what, the name is Neal's and Jon's to use and they would be stupid not to. Arnel is not copying anything. Did you see Perry live? No one can copy him. Arnel is living his dream, and frankly who the Hell wouldn't? Your comment about AP copying Perry is amusing. You are the one who is flatout wrong here.

I do agree that the legacy is being cheapened, but that has been in progress for 7 years now. However, they have a right to go out and earn money with the name Journey.

It's sad really because there are plenty of other musical avenues each of them (collectively or apart) could take to satisfy their musical "jones" and make a few bucks along the way.

No, it's not sad, your opinion is just fucked up. Why would Neal and Friga bump around towns playing clubs as the Puff n Stuffs when they can book ampitheaters for a couple thousand folks as Journey? Don't tell me you would do the former out of principle either.

At least you got that fuckin Sherrie to go through the tedious trouble of replying with a well thought out emoticon. She is lost as HOTS in a health club, stevew in a dictionary or PROPERRY in Augeriville.

If it would make him come out of retirement then I wish he would feel threatened. I don't doubt that he looks at comments about himself/Journey on various sites from time to time just out of couriosity. Who wouldn't wonder what was being said about them at his age?

Arnel is as much of a threat to Perry's legacy as Nader is to become President. However, the unelightened masses - who weren't aware of SA - may go and think "Geez, Perry lost his voice!" Unless they know the stituation, his reputation might be sullied.

Perry doesn't surf these sites.
Perry doesn't need the money.
Perry knows that he has left a very lasting impression
on his fans that will never be forgotten or matched.

The only thing Perry "might" owe his fans at some point
is a no-holds-barred explaination on why he walked away
from singing/performing so completely.
That is the one burning question most of us would
love to hear answered.

And how do you know what sites Perry does or does not surf? Do you have access to his lap top? I don't think so.

Who said he needs the money? No one.

Who said he owes his fans anything? No one.

I just said I wish he would feel threatened if it would make him come out of retirement.

Chill dude. He's just a man. Can't he be curious as to what other people say about him? I think so.

I highly doubt they will have a BIG time hit.....Arnel sounded no better than Augeri on the high notes in Chilie...Listen to SW's they are almost identical to SA signing them....rough and short...he skipped out on the high notes, just like SA did....All Arnel is a band-aid on a old mns's dream to keep touring......

Nuthin to chil over.
Someone did mention a big $$$ offer getting him out of retirement.
And before you graced us w/your presence, there was a member here
with more access/communication w/Perry than you could ever dream of
that has stated these points on countless occasions.

For anyone to think Perry would feel "threatened" by some guy
"trying" to sing as well as him... ridiculous.
