Yoi!
That is terribly sad...
This guy was entertaining as hell when I was still living back in Pittsburgh.
Most sundays, we would watch the Steelers' games with the TV's volume low
and have Cope's radio broadcast going just to hear is hilarious commentary.

And long before his Legendary Terrible Towels were mass marketed,
we would buy cheap, yellow/gold towels and write "TERRIBLE TOWEL"
on them in big, black marker! Oh the memories this guy brings back...

Rest in Peace, Mr. Cope.
Have a beer wth Mike Webster up there and talk of the good times...

If you never heard a ball game with color commentary by Myron Cope you missed out on something special.

It was like hearing a Cubs game called by Harry Carrey, a once in a lifetime personality.

He brought about the Terrible Towel, and of all the millions sold he gave all the money to charities in support of autism (he had an autistic child).

The terrible towels are flying at half mast here in Pittsburgh today, and it is undoubtedly a sad day.

There's some marketing genius for Steelers fans, Stu!
In the burgh, do they or have they ever sold
Terrible Towel "Flags"??? You know, like all the NASCAR banners
you see fans flying on race day??? That'd be cool as fuck to fly
from my flag pole on game day, a big-ass 6x9 Terrible Towel!!!

I wonder if they do have those??? If not maybe I will put a bug in the ear of the foundation that sells them.

Aww man that totally sucks ass. He has been fighting illness for sometime now. The whole Stiller Nation loved Myron and what he brought to the announcing booth. Truly will there be none other like him. RIP Myron Cope, you will be missed.

Here's to dumping some champagne to him, and a wave of the Terrible Towel in his honor!!!!
