OT-New Motley Crue Album and Tour Coming....

Postby mikemarrs » Thu Feb 28, 2008 11:52 am

MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee has revealed that the band's world tour will kick off on July 4. The trek is expected to coincide with the release of the group's ninth studio album, titled "The Dirt", which is tentatively due on July 8. A yet-to-be-named single will arrive at radio stations on May 7.

The record is based on the band's 2001 memoir of the same name and will be its first all-new studio effort since 2000's "New Tattoo". 1997's "Generation Swine" was the last to feature the group's original lineup, which reunited for a successful world tour in 2005.

Although it was reported last fall that drummer Tommy Lee had again quit the CRÜE over legal issues, he and the group have apparently reconciled.

"Nope! I never quit! Silly rumors! We're all together!" Tommy wrote in a February 25, 2008 online posting. "We're goin' on a world tour starting July 4th!!"

Bassist Nikki Sixx wrote in a recent online update, "10 songs done for the new CRÜE album so far, I'm very proud of the songs. I think we're onto some of the better songs we've had in years...Time will tell, of course. A couple of song titles on the CRÜE album are called 'A Scar On Hollywood Boulevard' and 'The Saints Of Los Angeles'... The chemistry in the studio as we're writing is unbelievable."

The CRÜE recently denied a post at Robin Leach's Las Vegas gossip blog which suggested that the band had signed a three-album, three-tour deal with Live Nation for $100 million. Although the source of the rumor was reportedly singer Vince Neil, bassist Nikki Sixx said in a statement, "MÖTLEY CRÜE has not signed any deals to tour or record whatsoever. Any information to the contrary is 100 percent incorrect."

they are great ,, and fun to see.. BUT that last tour was a smidget shy of a traveling porno circus... folks had taken
their children to the show and there are half naked people everywhere..

maybe a rock n roll show aint a place for the young, although i was going to concerts at 8.. maybe im just getting too old..

im noticing too that nothing is LOUD enough.. from concerts to the speaker at Sonic.. too much rock music on Kraco speakers in the 80's...

I wouldn't dream of taking my son to a Crue concert until he's at least 16.

It's not a family event. You go there to listen to great loud music, bang your head, check out the babes, and party with your friends.

Glad to see some official word that Tommy is still a part of it, though he's been quoted not that long ago as saying he's "pretty much over rock". I guess he's at least smart enough to take a paycheck when it's dangled in front of him.

I love the Crue, but I gotta tell you,. I saw them at the Apollo, Hammersmith London last June. With the exception of Nikki Sixx, they boys were off their game- Lets hope they get it together for the new tour.

Saw that last tour. I thought it was a great show for what it was.......LMAO can't say it was boring. Definitely not a show for kids though.......especially with Tommy and his titty cam.  If they are doing another cd/tour, obviously Tommy and Vince have put their differences aside......those 2 couldn't even be in the same room a while ago.

They looked pretty chummy on the recent DVD, which was nice.

Seems to me Vince has A.D.D. Lee figured out pretty good, that guy's about as bright as a dark night and every so often forgets that he's only "Tommy Lee" because of Motley.
