Bon Jovi- DC 2/29/2008

Amazing Show! I have not heard his voice sound as strong as it did, and youtube videos do not do them justice. They rocked out! only three ballads and all in a row. The rest just rocked out. They got the whole stadium going and I can only say it was the best concert I have been to. 2nd best is now Van halen in 04 in DC, and 3rd is Journey in 2005(probably tapegate) in northern VA. I know people have talked(and its obvious) he cannot sing like he used to, but he got really high on some notes and did held them well and did this all through the night. Jon must have had some good vocal rest. Richie sounded spot on(unlike right after getting out of rehab) and the band as a whole just blew me away. I hope to see them again live!

about the Christchurch, NZ concert in January. The best concert I have ever been to and they played a great mix of old and new. The crowd didn't let up and the new tracks off Lost Highway were well received. I am totally amazed how they can change their style but still sound like Bon Jovi. I am now loving everything that they do and the concert has enhanced my passion for their music again. It has been 12 years since they have been to New Zealand. PURE CLASS!!!!!!

you know the songs they did off the new album were played really well, and yeah I agree with you, different but still same ole' Bon Jovi, and they played the new songs with a lot of fire. the 4 new songs they played were "Lost highway" 1st song of the night. "whole lotta leavin' goin' on" was in the 1st 5 songs. "we got it goin' on" about half way through. "I love this town" was played at the very end. Which was appropriate for an ending song, though I would have liked to hear never say goodbye which of course is not new.

But yeah I totally agree with the crowd part, the crowd in the 20,000 that were in DC, seemed like most of the new the new songs which was surprising! There was a lot of energy.

We got 5 songs.....

from Lost Highway. they played lost Highway, Summertime, Whole Lotta Leavin', Love This Town and We Got It Goin' On. They still have thise good old fashioned singalong choruses and excellent tracks. I was surprised that they didn't play 'Memory' though. The CD is now getting lots of rotation. Richie was fantastic and it is good to see Jon using him for vocals on some tracks as I think he is as good a vocalist, and rocked that guitar.

There was sooooo many other songs from there back catalogue I would have liked to hear including some more stuff off Young Guns 2 (they played Blaze of Glory) as I really like that CD.

I still relive the concert from courtesy of Youtube.

They did play "memory" I totally forgot to mention that. It was one of the three ballads they played.

Anyone have a set list? I'm going to see them in Greensboro this weekend. How long did they play?

Their set list......

Postby kayaker » Fri Mar 14, 2008 6:17 pm

changed by about 3 or 4 songs each concert. Check out their web site and it is giving set lists for most of the shows. For us in New Zealand they played for about 2 3/4 hours icluding the 4 tracks on the encore. BEST SHOW EVER! I hope you enjoy it as mucch as i did.
