Hmmmm.....Ticketmaster still selling tickets for Wednesday's March 5th concert in Cincinnati. What's up with that ??

I know, I know.... I'm desperately hoping VH would make the March 19th re-scheduled concert in Atlanta.

That does suck. I was hoping to go to a great show tonight too. :(

Pray that we'll catch them here April 24th. :?

Yes, according to http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003718728 .

I consider Billboard a more reliable source than TMZ!

I am sorry, Andrew, that you are forced to muddle through this mess.

When I first came on MR, most of my time was spent in the Van Halen forum. And, yes, I did post very negatively about this band. Not without good reason, though. Year after year of drama, childish behavior, in-house fighting, inactivity, etc. left a very bad taste for all things Van Halen. Even now, with all these fans losing money on airline tickets, hotel reservations and whatever else, still no plausible explanation from the band or its management. This is just plain wrong! People don't need the gory details, just a reasonable explanation. This band owed the fans in every city a good show. After all, isn't that the reason why Eddie supposedly entered rehab last year - to get sober and give the fans 110%? I seem to remember him saying that or maybe that was his publicist.

A short-term rehab fix will not work. Besides, long-suffering VH fans deserve better. Of course, there have been some good shows, but there have been some very bad ones also.

One more thing, Andrew. The only fools in this muckety-muck mess are Van Halen and its management. I may not post much in MR, but I guarantee you I am here every day catching up on the latest. Carry on, Wombat - you are a class act!

Isn't Ed a cancer survivor? Is it possible that his troubles are not addictive but a recurrence? The statement said something about
diagnosis and possible treatment.

It would explain a lot. Anytime someone is diagnosed with the big "C" it scares the crap out of them. Takes a few days to get a handle on it
and be able to talk about it with family and friends, let alone a whole host of FANS who are just waiting to think the worst.
Valerie seems to be hovering around, perhaps as support for Wolfie during all the uncertainty.

Just something to think about. Try not to be too critical of the situation until this thing plays itself out. Right now it sounds like total chaos.

Remember, his cancer had nothing to do with his smoking ;) it was the metal picks in his mouth ;)

He smoked at all the shows back with the Van Hagar tour a few years ago too. Eddie is a total fuckwad, the guitar god in him aside.

Eddie was a very talented and extremely intelligent person until the drinking and drugs got the better of him. You would think that with as much intelligence and money as he has he would have gone into rehab, quit smoking, and found a new way of making himself happy apart from drinking and drugs. But there is an extremely stubborn part of Eddie that will not listen to common sense and wisdom. No matter who tells him to stop smoking, drinking, or drugging, he just rebels against it and like a fucking stubborn donkey he defies wisdom and sanity. Now he is paying a heavy price for it. He seems to have lost a great deal of his talent and intelligence due to the massive amount of brain cells that he has destroyed with substance abuse. Let's just hope he will stop being so fucking stubborn and get the help he needs to make the rest of his life halfway enjoyable.
