Am I the first?

Postby ttango1 » Sat Mar 08, 2008 3:27 pm

So I was trying to hookup with a small contingent of Filipinos at PH, the meet was set for 6-7 and my poor wife is using a cane due to a snowboarding mishap last week  but there is a reason for everything, when you're slow, you're slow and you get to look around a bit. So we're walking in the casino after walking half a mile from the self-park. Yes it's that far!!!!
My girl's leg is getting stiff and we pause for a sec...I notice first a long leather coat and then feathered hair and I see a guy having a conversation. Lo and behold...It's Jon Cain. I take a quick second to talk to his wife, she has a great smile and kind eyes. She strikes up a conversation with us asking us where we came from and I told her San Diego. She said they go there often in the summer and then she literally says,"Honey, these people came all the way from San Diego to watch you guys perform, can they get a picture?"
And as soon as he was done with that call, his wife took this pic:
Image

We then went down to meet some of the other Filipinos from The Journey Music Board and talk a bit. Then we say, let's talk later. Arthur is wearing his Arnel Rocks hat and I ask, maybe you'll run into him. He says he doubts it. and then we say, we gotta eat, we're hungry and we walk back to Miracle Mile and grab a quick bite to eat and the Filipinos I was talking to about 15 minutes ago, give me call and let me know...I JUST MISSED ARNEL and they got a quick pic with him.
Oh well...theres always tomorrow.

I called you DEANO...It's time for a beer!!!

I have ceased the rocking while in the fetal postion and have sunk even lower as I clean out my bathroom drawers. sigh.....

But the Wendys have been calling me from Howie's show. AWYWI and CRAZY. cool. 8) Panther and I snagged VIP tickets for Doobie Bros and George Thoroughgood on the 12th so maybe I'll survive this lonely night. crap.

Someone needs to tell Cain to get rid of the "feathered" hair. Perhaps he forgot it's not 1982 any longer

Isn't that what they call LEGACY HAIR? For that guy, it looks current.

hmmm....you forgot drunk dials, flashing the band, traffic infractions involving the railroad tracks, fist fights, hotel property damage, jail time is always a given, wardrobe malfunctions involving, well never mind. concert boot blisters, and the ever popular hives.

if he's gonna gripe, give him a list so he doesn't leave anything out.

Cafe DuMonde. mmmm. i'm pretty sure we turned down the wrong tracks but we got there eventually.

Yo, ttango1! So great that you stopped by and said hello when you did, because I was winding down and about to take off. Talking with you gave me another boost of energy, and it was great getting to see you meet so many others also for the first time. It slipped my mind that you were the one who ran into Jon and grabbed that picture, else I would have asked you about it! Travel safe, bro, and talk to you soon.

Yes, Red Shoes was looking killer, and she's a super sweetheart of a person. She kept pulling my ponytail! Haha... I guess I can truthfully tell people she was after Rip Rokken's tail?

Had a BLAST this weekend! Our first time to Vegas & WOW! What a vibe that place has, just awesome 8)

Best part of course was meeting back up with amazing people we've met before & meeting & putting faces with names of the people we had not met before & just having nothing but fun & laughter. Most wonderful person to finally meet.....Wyatt. What a beautiful baby boy! He is so precious & Lula is an AMAZING mommy & such a beautiful person with an amazing heart & soul! And that baby loves his mommy & daddy. Lula & Dean are both wonderful with Wyatt and that baby is greatly loved, that's for sure.

Got to meet lots of new faces & everyone was wonderful. Rip is right that his shirt was a hit & he could be seen for sure! It was awesome to meet Mr. Dokkolate chip cookie man himself  Met T-TIME (who is hysterical! ) & his 2 brothers and what a group of truly amazing gentlemen with absolutely wonderful personalities. Ttango is hysterical too, great to meet him. Tons of laughs with everyone & we all had a great time. Went by too fast & I'm still sleep deprived, so more will come back to me later I'm sure, lol.

As for the show.....it was great. JSS is my vocal god & always will be, but it was good to see Arnel live, & he was wonderful. He sings his heart out, he truly does, & makes you just want to root for him. Seems to have a great personality & he is a great showman. He puts tons of passion in his performance, that's for sure. I don't recall one dull moment of the show at all. The highlight for me though was Deen singing "Mother, Father", couldn't see Deen for the piano in our line of vision, but that song (one of my favorites) was amazing & I was ready to be peeled off the floor when it was over. The 3rd new song was ok, but the first 2 new songs knocked me out. Awesome stuff & looking forward to the new cd. All about the music.

Only thing that sucked was not having people there we geatly missed :( . So when's the next trip?

Hope everyone got home safe 8)

Mel, Mel, Mel, MEL! Reading your reply just puts the picture in my head of you just laughing hysterically. Nice review of the concert, was pretty dead on , on all points. Mother, Father is a good one to sing live, and Deen really put his mark on it..saw a lot of people enjoying themselves on this strum. What a great vocalist Deen is. I was actualy scared for my life because I thought the building was going to burn and crumble down on us, that's how on fire Arnel and the band was. Pretty Exciting AND Excited for them and us fans.

One more thing... I'm craving me some MAC 'N CHEESE right about now. :o Def. should of split it, what were we thinking lmao.

Glad everyone made it home safely!!!! I was worried about you and Lynn, Mel.......

Thanks for the text, T!!!!!! I will call you later! 8)

I should have just gotten the mac and cheese.....I bet IT didn't come with mayonnaise!!!!!!!!!!!!

We made it! Uneventful travels. We just did a bit of site seeing last night and we had the redeye. Oh!!!!! That night when we left you guys, we got back to our hotel, and I had no cell phone. I was sooo worried it fell out of my pocket and into the cab. I had no idea what cab company we rode in (gee, I wonder why) so we had to take a cab all the way back to PH to check the restaurant. Thank God they had it!!! So $30 of cab rides later, we went to bed and slept until 1pm. Needless to say, we extended out check out.

Mother, Father is a good one to sing live, and Deen really put his mark on it..saw a lot of people enjoying themselves on this strum. What a great vocalist Deen is.

That was the highlight for me too. I saw Deen after the show and told him so. I really do enjoy anything he sings.

I am so glad you guys had a blast together . . . . geez, you'd been hard pressed not to due to locale. Wishing I was there terribly but felt there in spirit nonetheless. I am just wondering how much food / drinks got snorted due to insidious onsets of laughter!

Should have strapped dan to various pieces of luggage . . . . .

Sipping on some Cafe Du Monde coffee in tribute

OMG, my new boy told me last night that going to concerts was not a christian thing to do. I really think he thinks there are massive orgies, sharing of needles, etc. Your thoughts?

hmmm....you forgot drunk dials, flashing the band, traffic infractions involving the railroad tracks, fist fights, hotel property damage, jail time is always a given, wardrobe malfunctions involving, well never mind. concert boot blisters, and the ever popular hives.

if he's gonna gripe, give him a list so he doesn't leave anything out.

Cafe DuMonde. mmmm. i'm pretty sure we turned down the wrong tracks but we got there eventually.

MMMM, the memories . . . . .

We missed you soooooooooo much Jen!

And there was one snort that I do recall vividly, and that from her left me laughing so hard I swear I stopped breathing for a few seconds!
